The 2024 Eurovision Song Contest winner has been crowned. On Saturday, the annual music event came to a close with Switzerland’s Nemo taking the top prize for their performance of “The Code.”
Nemo bested Croatia’s Baby Lasagna, a favorite to win, with his song, “Rim Tim Tagi Dim” — he came in second place. Ukraine was third, followed by France and Israel.

Actor Charlize Theron has gained and lost weight off and on for feature film roles. In the movie Tully, Theron went up to one of her heaviest weights. And doing so would take a toll on her mood.
Charlize Theron put on fifty pounds for ‘Tully’ Charlize Theron | Michael Tran/FilmMagic
Theron might not have had to gain the amount of weight that she did for her 2018 feature Tully. The drama saw the Oscar-winner gain 50 pounds to play a suburban mother with an unplanned child on the way. Theron took it upon herself to put on as much weight as possible for her role. And although it helped her performance, it was at the expense of her mood.
“I gained close to 50 pounds for this film,” Theron once told Et. “I just I wanted to feel what this woman felt, and I think that was a way for me to...

The horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein (you can read our review Here), which came to us from director Zelda Williams (making her feature directorial debut) and screenwriter Diablo Cody, just reached theatres on February 9th… and it hasn’t exactly been a smash, drawing just $9 million at the domestic box office so far. Maybe now it will be able to draw in more viewers, as they’re going to have the chance to watch the movie in the comfort of their own homes: Universal Pictures has already given Lisa Frankenstein a digital release, and it’s available to watch through sites like Amazon.
Set in 1989, Lisa Frankenstein has the following synopsis: A coming of Rage love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the...

[Editor’s note: The following article contains spoilers for “Lisa Frankenstein,” “Jennifer’s Body,” and “Young Adult.”]
Sometimes rage is the only way for a woman to get what she wants — especially if she’s a teenage girl with nothing else on her side. And no one channels that rage into movies better than screenwriter Diablo Cody.
The latest Cody film has all the signature requirements behind the Oscar-winning screenwriter’s scripts: Billed by Focus Features as “a coming of Rage love story,” the teen-centric, not quite rom-com hinges on the sexual awakening and empowerment of a high school senior (Kathryn Newton) who seeks solace from a centuries-old corpse (Cole Sprouse) after grieving death and coping with an assault.
“Lisa Frankenstein” is just the most recent female-fronted original horror-dark comedy from Cody, who penned the iconic “Jennifer’s Body” and recently told Deadline that “Lisa Frankenstein” exists in the same universe as the Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried two-hander.

This article contains major spoilers for "Lisa Frankenstein."
Hollywood has its eyes on "Lisa Frankenstein." The '80s horror comedy marks the feature directorial debut of Zelda Williams, the return of Diablo Cody to the teen horror comedy subgenre for the first time in 15 years, and has the potential to be the first big box office hit of 2024. If you had told me four years ago that one day an '80s-set zombie rom-com featuring "Freaky" star Kathryn Newton and Cole "Jughead Jones" Sprouse would be one of the most anticipated releases of the year, I'd wonder how you got a time machine and where you put my diaries.
Given its tone and delightfully odd story, "Lisa Frankenstein" is sure to be a polarizing film. It's an '80s film to its core, not just in its setting, but also in its approach to comedy. Many have compared the film...

The Lisa Frankenstein brain trust of Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody and director Zelda Williams became one of the few silver linings of their pandemic experiences. Unbeknownst to Williams, the duo had a mutual friend in common, Cody’s boyfriend, and when Cody put the finishing touches on her outlandish rom-com script, her partner suggested that Lisa should be the feature-length debut of Williams. After all, she’d been cutting her teeth via TV, music videos and shorts since 2016, and she’s been an actor on sets since 1989, the very year that Lisa takes place.
The film chronicles Kathryn Newton’s grieving teenager, Lisa Swallows, who spends time comforting the dead in a creepy, unkempt cemetery. After a high school party gone wrong, she proceeds to make a graveyard wish that reanimates a once handsome young man from the Victorian era. The mute, partially resurrected corpse known as “the Creature” (Cole Sprouse...

The tropes of horror comedy go back a long way; the genre probably dates to “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein,” released in 1948, with a few electro-roots in “The Bride of Frankenstein.” Yet the good ones all share something: a combo of flavors — scary and funny, violent and knockabout — that’s bold and tart and bracingly blended. A good horror comedy is a genre smoothie that wakes you right up.
But then there’s “Lisa Frankenstein,” a horror-com smoothie made mostly of ancient, moldy fruit. At this point, what a movie like this one tends to have going against it is the sheer past-the-sell-by-date creakiness of a genre that has now spent too many decades placing monsters and zombies in a so-normal-it’s-wicked high-camp setting. The original ghoulie sitcoms, “The Munsters” and “The Addams Family,” are 60 years old. “Young Frankenstein” is 50 years old. Even monster cereals like Count Chocula and Franken...

One of Westwood’s historic movie theaters will soon have new ownership.
Filmmaker Jason Reitman is leading an unnamed group of investors in purchasing the art deco Fox Village Theater, located at 945 Broxton Ave. The news, first reported by The Ankler’s Peter Kiefer, was confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. Per the initial report, Reitman and crew are “weeks away” from taking over the property in a deal that is currently in escrow.
Last summer, reports surfaced that the landmarked Fox Village was up for grabs for a $12 million sum, listed by Newmark’s Capital Markets group, which promoted the theater as an “iconic property” and “one of the most identifiable, landmark properties in Los Angeles.” The listing also stated that the 24,099-square-foot building, which houses 1,375 seats inside the theater, had not previously been up for sale.

I was already sold on checking out the horror comedy Lisa Frankenstein, since it marks the feature directorial debut of Zelda Williams and was scripted by Diablo Cody, but now a clip from the film has arrived online to give me an even more positive outlook on the movie. The clip can be seen in the embed above, and what makes me so happy about it is the fact that the 1985 classic Day of the Dead, one of my favorite movies from one of my favorite filmmakers (George A. Romero) is quickly glimpsed on a television in this scene. A comedic creature chase follows, but it’s the glimpse of Day of the Dead that I really love about the clip.

If you can successfully outrun the law and make it to your tanning bed in time, you’ll end up with the high score. It’s really as simple as that!“

I am not done with 'Jennifer’s Body'."I just need to find… I need to partner with people who believe in it as much as I do and that hasn’t really happened yet."I need someone to believe in it who has a billion dollars.”The movie follows Fox as Jennifer, a teen who gets possessed by a demon after a rock band sacrifice her to make it big.The cast also...

A new trailer for Zelda Williams' feature directorial debut "Lisa Frankenstein" just dropped, and it looks like exactly the dark gothic rom-com we didn't know we needed. Due out in time for Valentine's Day, the movie looks like one part "Warm Bodies," one part "Heathers," and one part "Jennifer's Body." You'll likely be hearing the latter comparison a lot, given that "Lisa Frankenstein" is penned by Diablo Cody, the same sardonic mastermind behind "Juno," "Tully," and the aforementioned Megan Fox-led cult horror-comedy favorite.
"Lisa Frankenstein" stars Kathryn Newton, who's already proven herself a great, game teen horror-comedy lead with the 2020 body swap film "Freaky." Cole Sprouse co-stars as the dashing corpse she reanimates, and the new trailer reveals that he'll likely spend the majority of the film communicating only through grunts and glances. It's probably not exactly a "May December" level performance, but it still (somehow) feels like a...

Forgive us for being wholly unable to name our favorite part of the “Lisa Frankenstein” Get Excited for This Film Starter Pack. Is it the basic logline? Is it the talent behind the camera? Is it the talent in front of the camera (Kathryn Newton as the titular Lisa! Cole Sprouse as her monster!)?
Maybe it’s just the punny title? Screw it, it’s everything, ideally sewn together into one delightful and unexpected package. In the film’s first full trailer, candy-colored ’80s flair is on full display, plus some winning lines from Newton and Sprouse giving an unexpectedly full-bodied performance as the seemingly voice-less creature. It’s cute, we promise!

One part “Edward Scissorhands,” one part “Poor Things,” a dash of “Jennifer’s Body,” add some sugar and spice, and everything is just as nice as young love for Diablo Cody’s latest, “Lisa Frankenstein.”

Many actors have had to completely transform how they look for a role, and Charlize Theron is no different. While some have followed extreme diets and vigorous workouts to lose weight, others have had to significantly increase the number of calories eaten to gain weight to play a character. On more than one occasion, Theron packed on the pounds, and now she says that she is “never ever” going to gain weight for a role – here’s why.

We all know Charlize Theron has put herself through the ringer for some of her most memorable performances – and maybe some of her flops as well – with weight gain proving a bit of a secret weapon, packing on the pounds for both Monster and Tully. But now that she’s nearing 50, she is refusing to put her body through anything like that again.
Speaking with Allure, Charlize Theron discussed the push and pull of gaining and losing weight for roles, naming both 2003’s Monster – for which she won the Academy Award – and 2018’s Tully, for which she put on nearly 50 pounds to play a woman going through postpartum depression. “I will never, ever do a movie again and say, ‘Yeah, I’ll gain 40 pounds.’ I will never do it again because you can’t take it off…When I was 27, I did Monster. I lost 30 pounds, like, overnight. I missed...

Charlize Theron’s days of gaining weight for roles are over.
The actress told Allure in a recent interview: “I will never, ever do a movie again and say, ‘Yeah, I’ll gain 40 pounds.’ I will never do it again because you can’t take it off.
“When I was 27, I did ‘Monster’, I lost 30 pounds, like, overnight. I missed three meals, and I was back to my normal weight.”
Theron won a Best Actress Oscar for her 2003 flick “Monster”, in which she starred as Aileen alongside Christina Ricci, Bruce Dern and more.
Despite being able to shed the weight after that, she said it was harder gaining 50 pounds for the 2018 film “Tully”.

Actress Charlize Theron is known for her method acting as well as her more naturalised behavioural acting, even undergoing great body transformations. The acclaimed star as such has won unanimous praise and is a big name in Hollywood, though she has recently become a strong critic of the industry, calling them out on their double standards regarding female actors, particularly for body transformations.
According to Variety, the actress said in an interview with Allure: “I will never, ever do a movie again and say, ‘Yeah, I’ll gain 40 pounds.’ I will never do it again because you can’t take it off. Charlize Theron is devoted to her craft to give life to roles that can be demanding such as Tully and Monster. Both roles required the star to make physical changes — something that Theron is not keen on ever doing again.
“I will never, ever do a movie again and say, ‘Yeah, I’ll gain 40 pounds.’ I will never do it again because you can’t take it off,” she told Allure. “When I was 27, I did Monster. I lost 30 pounds, like, overnight. I missed three meals and I was back to my normal weight.”
Although Theron had a relatively easy time bouncing back to her normal weight after her Oscar-winning performance in 2003’s Monster, the same could not be said for when she did it again for 2018’s Tully.

Charlize Theron has retired from taking on roles with extreme body transformations.

Theron won the Academy Award for best actress for “Monster,” in which she starred opposite Christina Ricci. She has previously spoken out about easily snapping back to her previous weight after the 2003 biographical crime drama. But Theron said that with age, shedding excess weight gained for roles became nearly impossible. She learned that first-hand after putting on 50 pounds for her 2018 dramedy “Tully.”

Charlize Theron is setting limits on physical transformations for roles going forward. The Academy Award winner told Allure that she will “never, ever” gain significant weight for a role again after putting on 40 pounds for “Monster” and later adding extra weight for her role in “Tully.”

Charlize Theron is dismissing rumors that she got a facelift, while also discussing how the aging process has made it more complicated to address weight gain and stunts for roles.
In a recent interview with Allure magazine, The Old Guard star took the rumor mill to task while discussing aging in Hollywood as the face of a number of high-profile ad campaigns, including the upcoming launch for Dior’s L’Or de J’Adore. Theron expressed that while her “face is changing,” she loves that as well as that she’s “aging” visibly. Her one qualm is observers who claim she’s had cosmetic procedures done to her face.
“People think I had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘Bitch, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens,'” the Fast X actress said.

Perhaps no one is more surprised by the news that Charlize Theron is 48 years old than the actress herself, but it sounds like she might be more comfortable with this fact than a lot of people are. Some names, once viewed on a marquee or YouTube ad, tend to draw a specific audience ranging from real fans to, “Oh yes, that guy.“ I could put the Duplass brothers, Mark and Jay, into both of these categories, with a lengthy filmography largely encompassing projects their company Duplass Brothers Productions has spearheaded, such as 2010’s “Cyrus” and “Jeff, Who Lives at Home”; Mark, in particular, has emerged as the higher profile of the two, consistently delivering as an actor in diverse roles ranging from horror (“Creep”) to TV comedy (“The League”) offbeat humor and more. “The Long Long Night,” another Mark Duplass vehicle, would likely fall into the latter category; originating from show creator/co-star Barret O’Brien, the six-episode series depicts the falling out between two former best friends, Pete (Duplass) and Carroll (O’Brien) and the night that kicked it off, told through black and white footage of...

It's been fascinating to see how Keanu Reeves and Charlize Theron have become legitimate action stars since the two actors starred opposite each other in the demonic thriller "The Devil's Advocate." Reeves picked up the mantle first with "The Matrix" franchise which helped redefine U.S. action films. At 57 years old, Reeves has done the majority of his own stunts through four entries of the "John Wick" series, and if the latest "John Wick 4" trailer is any indication, the actor shows no signs of slowing down.

The change in representation comes as Theron prepares for a major 2023, with the release of “The Old Guard 2” for Netflix (which she also produced via Denver & Delilah) and “Fast X” for Universal, her third appearance in the “Fast & Furious” franchise. She most recently starred opposite Kerry Washington and Michelle Yeoh in Netflix’s “The School for Good and Evil,” and made splashy cameos on Amazon’s “The Boys” series and in Marvel Studios’ “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness,” playing Clea, a character which could have a lengthy future in the MCU.

After co-writing and executive producing Sony Pictures’ “Ghostbusters: Afterlife,” Gil Kenan will direct the live-action sequel, which will see the previous cast returning and the film returning to the original films’ New York City and Firehouse setting, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.
Jason Reitman and Kenan co-wrote the film together and are also producing the film along with Jason Blumenfeld.
“It’s an absolute honor to pick up the proton pack and step behind the camera for the next chapter of the Spengler family saga. I just wish I could go back to 1984 and tell the kid in the sixth row of the Mann Valley West that one day he was going to get to direct a Ghostbusters film,” Kenan said in a statement.

I love a good teaser poster, and these three pieces of key art for Vasilis Katsoupis' debut feature deliver a satisfying tease. The film, Inside, is a one man, one room heist film starring Willem Dafoe, who slowly goes crazy after he is locked in an upscale penthouse full of expensive art. The posters were designed by Arsonal, who typically traffick in prestige TV work but occasionally do excellent feature film work; see their one sheets for Tully, or Thoroughbreds. The teasers here, each feature an object with the films title embedded. Note the excess type elements which fade into the posters creamy background offer a trapped/escape motif. I think it is safe to guess that these objects (like the animal posters...

“This is not fun news to share, but Netflix [has] decided not to move forward with Season 3 of Fate: The Winx Saga,” showrunner Brian Young wrote Tuesday in an Instagram post. “This is especially tough because I know how many of you loved this season.
