Of all the superhero shows around, this is by far the most improved between seasons. Who would of thought, going into the home run that we would be on such a high like we are now. Arrow is back and the world is a better place for it.
Usually I don't do this but I'm actually going to start with some negatives I had with this episode. This episode fell into the same trap Supergirl did where they took focus away from what was important to help ARGUS. While it wasn't to the extreme because there was a point to it and in the end they ended up with something they wanted, at episode 19 I wanted from here on out to be about Chase, rather than setting up a future threat in Helix.
However, that is where the negatives end. I really enjoyed this episode. The fact that it still had it's foot in the door of the main story definitely made me feel as though this episode was worth something. I thought the heist story was really interesting considering that this is one of the only time Team Arrow are on the defence. Usually they are the ones breaking in so it was cool to see them staking a place out waiting for an attack to happen.
Moving onto Helix, them as a whole as been something I've often pushed to the back of my mind when think of Arrow. I don't mind them around and I often wonder where they are heading in the show. This episode was the first time I felt they were a force. While I saw it as a bit of a negative that they choose to show Helix's power rather than concentrate on Chase, on the flip side it was cool to see what they can do. I feel as though seeing them perform a heist like that needed to be shown, however if it was up to me I would of preferred for it to have happened in the early part of the season when the big bad is not in main focus yet.
Something I want to touch on which I do bring up sometimes is the relationship with Lance and Rene. They have quickly grown to be one of my favourite relationships on the show. I think they are written really well and they have great chemistry with shows on screen. By the looks of it, both of them look like they are hanging around for a while so that is always a great thing to look forward to.
Right before wrapping up this review I had a thought. This episode had no flashbacks. I'm not sure how I feel about it because I have really enjoyed this season's flashbacks but they weren't at all missed considering it took me a while to realise they were nonexistent.
Overall, another really great episode from Arrow. At this rate, this season is up there with seasons 1 and 2 and that is a great place to be. I'm excited to see them locked in for the back end of the season and of all the shows, this is the one I am most intrigued about.
