Oddly interesting TV series
unpredictability5 January 2020
This is one of the strangest series I have ever watched. The first 20 minutes was laughable but I kept watching. It just got stranger and stranger but I couldn't look away. I really did enjoy watching this but I am not sure why. The mystery, the over acting, the crazy plot... If you like unusual TV give it a try.

46 Yok Olan is a gift.
msmargret-7391016 June 2019
"Stunning." Some Beauty can only be imagined and created by humans. 46 Yok Olan is a rare example.

The beauties of this cinematic masterpiece are diverse, layered and smart. The story's timeliness is right on time for sci-fi; Civilization's evolution; and, succeeds in contributing to shared human understanding with a wicked mirror on ourselves. None of the talented and amazing people who made choices in this work should be overlooked.

It deserves kudos that the acting is inspiring. Supported by a top-drawer translator, the remarkably, well played characters and skillfully elegant exchange make this, very complex story, compellingly intimate. The intensity doesn't fade for binge viewing.

Beautiful minds conceived of, wrote and made an experience of this story. It is a horror; horrible because it isn't impossible. The unexpected, is as a mine field throughout. Both the Cinematography and Music compliment the story with an Uncle's loyalty. The costumes are glamorous, the venues are lush and the players are charismatic. The Director is brillant.

Another season could be frightening. I know I'd wait and wait for it, though.

My experience of 46 Yok Olan, as I'm sure is the case for many Westerners, includes how personable, honest, brave, bold and comfortable the Turkish people strive to be. That may be the origin story, in all of this telling. Many such aspects catch my thoughts in reflection. Beautiful.

Jekyll & Hyde - Turkish Style
faith-835 August 2021
What a roller coaster! I starts quietly an gathers momentum. Mix a little bit of Dexter, a dollop of Jekyll and Hyde, and a sliver of Breaking Bad.

Several sub-plots woven together very cleverly.

Our rich, obsessive protagonist is sinister in his normal state, but barking mad in his alter ego. And, he is not the only one...

Erdal Besikcioglu! He came up with 46.
ahmetkozan6 April 2016
46 Yok Olan is a Turkish psychological thriller TV series. The series is directed by Serdar Akar.

Again Erdal Besikcioglu, again a quality production.

I was really impressed when I read the first issue. Such television series is really important for Turkey. More should be done. Now people should see things differently. Mystery, suspense, excitement and psychological thriller. The duration of the series is very good. Each episode is 60 minutes. It differs from other Turkish TV series. Erdal Besikcioglu is playing very well. He is giving us tension. Giving it. This series of very impressive. All the characters in the series so good. Erdal Besikcioglu's place is always different.

Dimethyltryptamine or DMT, a hallucinogen configure kind secreted during sleep. He exhibits a very successful acting under the influence of DMT.

Congrats to Nunova for such a powerful, incredible production. This is one of the best shows I've seen in a while in Turkey. Can't wait for the next episode! I highly recommend this series to anyone. 10/10

I read the description on Netflix, thought I would give it a try, didn't have too high of hopes. I can easily say this is one of the most interesting, compelling, well written, well acted shows I've seen in ages. Each episode leaves you wanting more. Highly recommend you give this show a try. 10/10

You can't go wrong with Erdal Besikçioglu
doofuzzdudes7 June 2020
I don't think anyone can play crazy as well as Erdal Besikçioglu . He apparently can speak English as he does speak some English in 46 Yok Olan, so he could go out and conquer the world with his version of crazy. He could easily rival Jack Nicholson. To see what I mean, watch him acting crazy in Behzat C. The series had exactly the right number of episodes which was quite a pleasure considering Behzat C took out half my life. I didn't think I was going to enjoy 46 Yok Olan as much as I did (btw what on earth does the title mean?) but once I started I couldn't wait to watch the next episode. The plot is most unusual and although the synopsis leaves you wondering if you should waste your time watching it, I certainly didn't regret taking the plunge. If you watched Behzat C you'll also get to see Vulture again but in quite a different role. And if you watched Black Money Love, you'll see Fatih Dündar as a policeman this time. Anyway I enjoyed this series very much and now I'm looking for more Erdal Besikçioglu movies or series (that have English subtitles).

Got bored with the same stuff on Netflix and gave a try to this Turkish TV series, loved the work of Serdar Akar. Not Breaking Bad or Ozark but good acting and good taste for thriller fans

Frustrating
jack026 July 2019
First of all, the show is too long. The episodes are almost all 60+ minutes, and there are 13 of them.

It was interesting to start with, but there were too many soap opera elements as it went on, and lots of just... strangeness. It's hard to tell how much was intentional.

The police work was sloppy and it made no sense that they wouldn't face disciplinary action for some of it, and the main policewoman wore some ridiculous outfits for an apparent professional.

The final episode really wasn't satisfying. I won't spoil anything, but this show definitely isn't worth investing the time in.

Erdal Besikcioclu is a compelling actor!
umbriel14424 January 2021
He made me laugh and he made me cry... surprising twists and turns on a Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hyde type done modern Turkish style. He exhibited excellent acting skills. His portrayal felt personal and you could never say he overacted his part. I never found myself wanting to see the next sequel, which led me to watch another of his on Netflix Bahzat C (which I liked very much (a tv series which ties together the characters from one to the next very well).

mildly entertaining
myotherpetisdog11 July 2020
It is mildly entertaining and more like a comedy than other genre. Lead character was amusing, the police staff were all rookies, mafia and killers were dumb. Saygin Soysal (Dogan) was much more alive in Black Money Love. Here he was mostly in a "lethargic" state. Yasemin Kay Allen (Selin) was annoying and often caricaturistic. Berkan Sal (Salim) was a miscast.

Warning: Spoilers
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde retold and badly. The main character Murat is a repulsive, dirty, hairy greasy pony tailed man -- whether he is in his incarnation as Dr. Jekyll or as Mr Hyde -- a most unattractive protagonist who wins in the end -- what kind of a dumb story is that???? Gets away with countless murders; all the good guys end up dead or in a coma -- yuck, it really cannot get much worse and to think I watched the whole thing -- hoping and wishing that Murat would be finally killed by someone or other. The man is not even good-looking -- bad body, losing his hair -- what is attractive about this man???? And yet it seems he is the only one to get any action in this stupid series. I have watched several Turkish dramas at this point and this one is probably the worst although there has been some steep competition. Several conclusions can be made: 1) swimming pools are vary rarely used for swimming or for anything, just background 2) all male leads had beards, I don't know why but seems a prerequisite 3) women are always inferior whatever happens.

High Quality
bugradaghan16 November 2021
Good script Good acting's Good director. Almost perfect. Dmt and shamanism ,despite its logical flaw, are very well researched. We need new eye to see Erdal Besikcioglu's acting. I bet there's no one to do this job like her.

An unusual tale, but engaging and worth a watch.
peteramartin24 February 2021
I went straight into watching this after enjoying another Turkish series (The Gift), which I enjoyed. 46 Yok olan was quite different but held my attention throughout, even though the storyline is a tad unbelievable. It was made more creditable by some very good acting, especially from the main characters, although I found Chief Inspector Doglu the least convincing.

At times it morphed into black comedy and I'm not sure it was intended, but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story. I wouldn't mind a 3rd series but not sure there is enough left to carry on.

A series written by teenagers, shot by students (seems like)
renkhulagu21 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
They say the murder of his father happened in 2005. He was "young" back then according to them. But if we do the math, the guy was 35 y/o or 30 at least. But his sister's age is more realistic. Every storyline is bad in this series. And it seems like it was written by a teenage boy. A horrible version of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with little to none logic in it. Selin's story is also not logical since Bursa and Istanbul are so close, if she is hiding from people, she would have moved to a different city, not somewhere so close. (And would she even continue being a cop?) Oh, and some of the actors are amazing as always while some of them are just meh.

The dialogues are so repetitive and not realistic.
