Not The Show's Best...

Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of the series. Many episodes are hits but this one was a miss. To make light of the contributions made by our forefathers is both distasteful and disrespectful bordering on the sacrilegious. Lincoln T. Perry was an artist. Instead of looking at the humor of his work and commending a black man in that era for being a star in his own rights we apparently judge an actor from the 1930's based on our current day 'enlightenment'. Apparently the show's writers believe that they are 'woke' and that their writing unmasks deep lying issues in society, but this episode was way too on the nose. It wasn't cleverly written. Both of the major plot points I believe had the plan to empower people of color, but this particular one only shows how small minded we are, once again propagating the theory that we pull down our own.

I have been a fan of Anthony Anderson for years and I recall several roles he had that in no way helped advance the struggle. There are better ways of addressing racial bias. Please find them.

Still a fan, just disappointed...
