Wesley Crusher Returns--Again
Hitchcoc24 September 2020
This is an effort to get 2 back in shape. It means a trip to where she was formed. The trip requires great risk. Once again, the solution seems pretty contrived. But Rook is still around and will surely show his face at least one more time.

Wish this was two episodes

Warning: Spoilers
There was so much going on in this episode, it really needed to be twice as long to more fully develop everything that happened. Firstly, I love the effects and the artwork of the city created on Earth. They really seem to have upped the budget for that sort of thing a lot this season. It felt like you could set a whole show just in the city they created for one episode. Really gorgeous. I also loved the quick scenes where the Android was tasting the hot chocolate and where Three figured out so easily what Four and Nyx were up to. I wish we had more time to enjoy the nerdy tech guys who helped our team. It was nice to meet nice, helpful, curious people for a change. But this was part of my problem.

This episode had a really weird tone to it. It was sort of all over the place between comedy, danger, concern for Two, villains, Two's reunion with the tech guy. Then I saw it was a one time visit of Peter Deluise directing. Now, don't get me wrong, I love him as a director, so this was a rare misfire for me. I guess it was due to this being his one and only time seemingly being involved with the show, so maybe he was a little out of sync. Again though, this could easily split into two episodes, there was so much good stuff going on and it would have benefited from more development. Which is a really good thing - usually shows don't have enough going on. The ending part especially with whatever got into Three seemed way too quick.

Side note, Wil Wheaton just absolutely can not act and is very creepy, but I guess that works for a slimy villain.
