A good solid conclusion.
Sleepin_Dragon14 August 2020
The game of cat and mouse begins, Marcella knows who the killer is, but her actions may just have jeopardised the case, she's up against a deadly, but intelligent criminal.

This was a very satisfying conclusion, it stopped being a mystery in the last episode, this was very much in the realms of psychological thriller, a clever game of cat and mouse.

It does seem a little odd that Marcella was even on the case, let alone not kicked off after her rather violent encounter. Also a little odd that the Prison visit was allowed to happen.

All in all, it's been a very good first series, it had a worthy ending, 8/10.

Satisfying Conclusion
Hitchcoc14 September 2016
I was pleased that the series ended with a solution to the crime and the apprehension of the criminal. That's as much as I will give away. This is a psychological series where the characters have all levels of fragility. Marcella is running around, carrying the pain of the death of her child, her failure to find the serial killer, her propensity for violent blackouts, and the guilt over committing an act that could lose her her career and even put her in jail. As things get sorted out, we are made privy to the utter contemptibility of the woman who leads the big land development corporation, her sick husband, their sycophantic employees. Even the violent death of her daughter never sways her from being a virago. Anyway, although there are some pretty far-fetched incidents at the end, we can be satisfied with the results. They also wisely didn't give Marcella a free pass because there are things she still has not confronted.

Something to get your teeth into

All is revealed as the perpetrator is finally apprehended. The motives and secrets become clear. A fair script and good acting but could do with more repartee between the investigative team. The slow moving story could have been completed in fewer episodes. The drama could do with a but more bite.

Easy watch

Watchable series, but quite a few unanswered questions and some dodgy ( untrue ) practices.

Not sure if it will stand the test of time, but good enough to warrant a watch of series 2.

How on earth can a good series end so poorly? First thing, how did Jason survive 2 knife stick in his belly, he should have died many times of the blod lost, while Marcella had her fun with Henry. And why the heck isn't Marcella suspended when she tryed to kill Henry with a plastic bag? The season had been good and realistic in some ways all way through untill that massive brainfart at the end.
