I'm a great fan of Zak & Aaron for there contributions and investigations in to the paranormal, until now they lived up to there standards. After little research myself found one to many question marks that they should have caught researched before interviewing some of these people, now they are being mislead and duked. All though its chilling and entertaining, a great watch. But can lead to false myths and false information to fester in the field. As anything look at it with very objectively and open minded, do not take it as fact. I'm a layman in the field, spired to work with it myself someday, to find my own answers just as these guys started. I support there efforts, but just be careful going down this rabbit hole guys. I had high hopes for this show. I have always been a huge fan of Ghost Adventures and was happy to hear of a new series during GA's "off- season" to tide me over until a new season starts. I was immediately turned-off by the fact that Zak has to sit like a king on a throne while the guests bring "object" into his "ballroom." We all know he is an ego-maniac, but come ON, now. The guests stand until he asks them to have a seat. After giving a sketchy history of the item's past (with frequent interruptions by Zak) the "investigation" (for lack of a better term) begins. We see a shot of Zak's self-portrait hanging on the wall. Yes, it is an actual painting of himself. The "investigation" includes someone who has been affected personally by the object. I feel these particular guests had to attend an acting class to be included. This was so over-the-top and unnecessary! And he even has an elderly butler named Theodore who mills around to do Zak's bidding. At one point, Theodore walks up to Zak's throne to deliver his mail, turns around and lets out a scream of feigned terror when he sees the haunted doll. It was so bad. So bad. It is painfully obvious that this was Zak's brain-child and that he has full creative-control over the entire process. I was cringing the whole way through. If you want a laugh, then this show is for you. If you were hoping for an entertaining paranormal show, this won't satisfy.

Fantastically eerie premiere episode. I'm really digging this paranormal Pawn Stars format. Creepy objects with creepy history in a creepy location. What more could you ask for. I had heard about Robert the doll, but didn't know that it inspired Chucky, which of course was one of the most disturbing horror films for children of the 80's. And the haunted museum looks great. Such a bizarre place. I wonder how all of the objects hold up under close examination. I'm looking forward to next week's episode and I'm looking forward to checking out the museum itself the next time I'm in Vegas. I hear it's located near downtown Vegas, the old part of town, which is also a really bizarre place!

I always knew Zak was egotistical, but this show takes the case. After his "butler" checks the peep hole after someone knocks, they must walk down a long, dimly lily hallway where Zak is sitting on his "throne" and doesn't stand when a person enters, not even if it's a woman. Zak's Ghost Adventures is a ten compared to this show, but that's another review. It's just a cheesy show, with a slow moving butler, an interview room that looks like it came off of the set of a vampire movie and a gaudy hearse as his official museum car. He needs to bring his ego down a few notches and infuse the show with some authentic investigating. I was really expecting A LOT more from Bagans and am truly disappointed.

I am a big fan of ghost adventures and everything that zac does!! And I found this show super interesting learning the story behinds the hunted things! You should explain and show everything you have in the museum!! Bring back more espisodessss

Sadly I was very annoyed with this series It so dramatic and its just and just plain Disney its not the objects or the stories its the way they present the show over dramatic , unrealistic and very childish and a bit of a joke to be honest.
If this show is supposed to represent the most haunted objects in History or the world it really bad that I feel like I am watching another cheap quick scare cheesy show.
There is a real Museum that holds real famous objects in side of Ed and Lorraine Warren's: The Occult Museum.
If you ever watch Lorraine Warren the most famous Demonologists talk about these objects of possession you can hear that she is not over dramatic she is very straight to the point and very honest and very respectful.
Sadly the presenter Zak does not have these qualities but rather sounds like a child playing with a toy. I feel like he has a little understanding of what he is doing. It really does not inspire confidence and does not for fill my expectations.
I understand that this show may go far but only for the reasons of the fan base with the previous shows.
This is a waste of time for people who have a serious interest for the Occult and the history of these objects.
I really do hope they make some changes to the show because this could be a hit with out the dramatics. rating 4/10. unsure emoticon .

I love learning about these objects & their history I feel Zak has approached the show professionally & respectfully. The interviews were great & the objects are unique & authentic. Zak approaches the objects with skepticism & respect & investigating them he lends to their creditably or not. The objects he has covered so far have been intriguing & mysterious & Zak interviews the people with compassion & respect. He offers to assist anyway he can to help those impacted most by these items. His museum will be unique & different housing these oddities there will be no place like it which makes it more compelling to visit I hope it opens soon to the public & I hope to see a second season.
First Episode was terrible! Will not watch another.

I get there is a craze with the Anabelle franchise as well as ghost hunting shows, so it's not a surprise someone would have thought to create a show about discussing possessed or haunted items. This haunted object premise COULD be cool if proof of the object's history was shown and discussed. Not hard, they did it all the time on Ghost Adventures.
Next, the butler named Theodore who brings Zak his mail. The segment really had nothing to do with the haunted object but rather a way for Zak to introduce the fact he now has a butler. The set...and this is definitely a set has 4 rooms? Why does he need a butler? The feel of the show is just OVERLY dramatic and the ego-mania is stifling.
If Zak and his crew wanted to explore haunted and cursed antiquities that have apparently killed people, I don't think it's wise to have guests of the show drag the object out into public where it can be in contact with unsuspecting people. It's kind of a reckless thing to do if one TRULY believes these objects are possessed. This is the neglected detail that sinks the show's credibility for me. I'm no expert but I would imagine that an experienced ghost hunter would want to retrieve and transport the object themselves knowing how dangerous it can be to unsuspecting people. If the host got off his throne and retrieved these demonic items from their place of origin it would inspire actual ghostly events to occur as well as lend itself to better storytelling.
Ghost Adventures was such a hit because of its casts honest chemistry and the playful rhythm that made it authentic and relatable even if you didn't believe in ghosts. They joked, they screamed and most importantly they had fun and that's why it was so fun to watch.
In conclusion, no I'm would not watch another hour of Zak desperately trying to get people to take him as seriously as he does himself which is the only creepy element of the show.

I'm a skeptic but I'm always searching for the unexplained and paranormal, so I enjoy the genre. But this is an absolute embarrassment. Zac sitting on a throne with a painting of himself in his interview room, interupting his "guests" and talking over them is unbearable. There's no research and barely any factual history of the objects. Everyone on the show is over acting so hardcore it makes WWE wrestlers cringe.
My biggest problem however is the fact this young fit guy has an incredibly slow and frail old man as his "BUTLER" and orders him around like a slave. It's truly despicable and makes me super uncomfortable.....

The show is highly entertaining and I love it. My only disappointment is reading most of people's negative reviews. I don't understand why people don't like it, it's Zac is showing the artifacts and hearing people stories behind it! what more do people want??! he's not doing an investigation, so others need to be more open-minded at this is a different kind of show. Remember when the Travel Channel was taken seriously? Remember when the network took pride in what it broadcast? Remember the beautiful andinspiring programs?
This is not one of those.
As unintentional COMEDY this program is brilliant! At first I thought Iwas watching a delightful parody of every off the wall "reality show" ever produced. I was especially taken with Zak Bagans' take on the smarmy snake oil salesman who gets his guests to say and do incredibly stupid things - just for their moment on national TV. Then, sadly, I realized that this was "serious"... well as serious any any program of this type could be.
I cannot believe people actually can sit through this stuff. Not only is it total HOKUM, it is mind numbingly boring. Nothing significant actually happens. Nothing exciting actually happens. Nothing scary actually happens. They just breathlessly recount rumors and legends and unimportant stuff.
The Host, if you can call him that, is a colorful character called Zak Bagans. Never heard of this "expert"? Well, he was in a Lumber Liquidators commercial. And he is planning on putting in a museum in downtown Las Vegas... "full of the haunted and cursed objects he has been collecting through the years".
If you want to watch Trailer Trash spin colorful stories, watch Jerry Springer reruns instead. The production values on that show are much higher, and they throw pies.

Dull and Uninformative

I like Ghost Adventures, even though Nick is gone and Zak has become increasingly given to pontificating and wearing art school clothing (black on black and thick rimmed glasses). That show is still interesting, both in the historical places they visit and the experiences they have. I guess it's not easy coming up with interesting places that are reputed to be haunted on a consistent basis, so they ventured into Aftershocks (which is okay) and Deadly Possessions. This show feels cheap and slapped together, and not authentic, a bit like the Ryan Buell paranormal show with Penn State students. People come in with objects they think are linked with the paranormal, and Zak sits listening, trying to ask overly provocative questions, and even with cuts to dramatic recreations of events, nothing really happens, it's just rather dull storytelling on the whole. If I had watched this show first and had never seen Ghost Adventures, I'd imagine GA must be a boring, hokey show and avoid watching it. It's a poor effort, and fails primarily because it has a premise that is hard to make interesting and believable. I don't know, what does a ghost hunter do in his spare time? Is it possible to make staying at home and talking to average people with objects they think might be bad interesting and worth watching? Not in this case, unfortunately.

I was not convinced by the story about Charles Manson's t.v. First of all anyone who grew up during the 60s know that digital televisions did not evolve until the 80s. the television featured was clearly a product design of the 80s. It was more clear after Zak turned it on and you could see the digital display. Also it could not have belonged to an inmate serving life with no access to a TV in his cell nor any plug outlets. This episode and all those featured in it are fake! It is difficult to discern when these claims are made and the obvious hoax is clearly visible but the details are never challenged. I am not saying that Zak and his crew are not sincere in their efforts to prove that these claims exist but when exploiting a story and examining the facts are paramount to bringing legitimate claims to the audience. But when these people tell their stories and present testimony sometimes it becomes clear when the wool is being pulled and the gullible are captivated.

In short: The entertainment value is that of modern day time talk shows (Maury) with the feel of Pawn Stars. Only thing different is it portrays "Zak the king of darkness" in his new museum.
First let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of these guys, but I will say that this is a flop. I've only watched episode 1 of season 1, the pilot. I almost couldn't finish the one episode due to the embarrassment/cringe I felt.
It's so obvious that Zak was given creative control and made it more focused on him than anything. He's not a good host in interviews, we all know this. If you've watched Ghost Adventures since the beginning to current you pick up on their personalities traits and what not. That said, literally any other co-host (Aaron,Billy, or Jason) have empathy and don't make everything to show how big of a man he is. It's a very narcissistical way of hosting and very distracting. Does he have to sit in a Kings throne? Have paintings in his honor but yet nothing to honor the rest of them? As without Nick he would still be a punk of a kid listening to Limp Bizik and using to much gel.
"Theodore" also shouldn't have acted legitimately scared from Robert the doll. It was so ridiculous that it's comical. First he walks right past it, then turns around and has to wait more than 10 seconds before a yell and scurry. To which the old man begins to get a cough that isn't fixed until he apologizes to the doll. This is all Zak's attempt to show the curse of Robert but it's done so poorly and over the top that it's on point with Jerry Springer or Maury.
I will say it has some value though. It does show you objects with just enough background to sustain a 3 minute clip.
So it's a 3 star for me.

Imagine Sally Jesse Raphael, but instead of confronting cheating spouses or lying family members, the guests come face to face with inanimate objects that they address, often crying. The only unfortunate things is that the host/producer/museum owner plays so heavily on the instability of people's emotions. I love horror, love true stories (or well-written fiction). This is none of those things but it is campy and hilarious, assuming you can get past the mental wellness issues that this series highlights.

The questions with this show aren't so much 'Do demons exist?' and 'Can they possess physical objects?' so much as 'Does Bagans expect us to believe this?' and 'Does he himself believe it?'. It's essentially Pawn Stars for the credulous, hosted by someone on an ego trip (Did we not get attention as a child?) interspersed with acting that would be woeful in a porn movie let alone a horror movie. If you want a programme that tackles the paranormal in an objective manner that doesn't make assumptions, look elsewhere. If I had to say anything positive it would be that it's unintentionally hilarious. Knock back a shot every time Bagans looks stunned and make a drinking game of it... actually don't, you'll ruin your liver. I'm guessing the 10/10 reviews are from people who Bagans has paid, as was obvious in the equally awful Demon House (Be disappointed by one Bagans show, shame on him, be disappointed by two, shame on us) or they are by the exceptionally credulous. I don't disbelieve the paranormal, I do keep an open mind, but I can't buy into it when its presented THIS badly.
