What about the interns?
kworkman-7235823 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I just this year came across this show and watched it all the way through. I enjoyed the entire series. I did not like how there really wasn't an ending for the interns. We know Jessica breaks up with Aubrey, but what happens for her. We know there was question of if Wendell truly wanted to be a forensic anthropologist, but they didn't finish that out. Daisy did get a job, but I guess came back to help when she heard the news? What about Finn? He just disappeared after like season 10. Overall I think we got closure for the main Jeffersonian group and how their lives will be. I absolutely loved the whole show and glad I came across it!!

Don't Think Too Much
Hitchcoc28 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Isn't it interesting that Hodgins, Angela, Brennan, and Booth survive a massive explosion. Were there other victims? I don't know. So this episode is a bit weaker than the previous one. They do throw in Brennan's brain damage to put a damper on the investigation. For heaven's sake, anyone in this setting should have been hospitalized for a week and observed. That aside, the squints were forced to take everything they were taught and become a combined Brennan. It did like the fact that after the place is reassembled, they will be going back to work. The scene where they finally get the bad guy wasn't all that interesting. It is quite contrived. I do have to admit that I enjoyed this series and at times thought it to be lacking, but they did a lot of episodes and filled the bill most of the times. A final thing though. I wish Brennan had grown a little in her embracing the realities of her culture, and Booth could get off his macho thing once in a while and stop bullying. Finally, I like Hodgins, but I don't think he will make much of a director.

Amazing ending to an amazing and groundbreaking television show
brookielee-873993 February 2019
I'm still so sad Bones is over but I think the cast, writers, crew, etc. did an amazing job with the final season - they were able to pack tragedy and humor into the last 12 episodes and end the series on a positive and satisfying note.

The only things I wish they would've done with these last 12 episodes is bring by Zach Addy for more than 2/12 episodes and I would have liked to have seen Loren Dean make an appearance in one of the episodes to support his sister and mourn over their fathers death together.

All the technical issues
d-justins11 April 2017
So, for a "Scientific" show (a word consistently used incorrectly in the show, so i'll use it incorrectly here.), or at least a show that promotes technology and boasts extremely pedantic characters, it's unbelievable how technically wrong this show is. I've passed over calling worker bees drones, the logical fallacies of the "Bones" character, and all of the illegitimate/illegal/impossible things the "Angela" character does to help a case... to get to the end of this program. And the one thing that bugs the hell out of me is that they didn't use a fetal heartbeat for the audio when checking Angela's baby. It's like, COME ON! Is there a research staff on this show whatsoever? I'm not even a midwife, nor familiar in obstetrics... i'm just a father of two. I'm sure there are forums of trolls that have complained about these things for all the years of this show's life. I don't really want to contribute to that. However, when you create a show with characters who not only perform highly technical functions, but also base their morals and arguments on them, you have to do better.

The show ended fine, whatever, i still watched every episode like a chump.

What's with 4:47?
vickiraebern19 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
No one else noticed? The clock Bones took from her lab that stopped when the explosion occurred, at 4:47. It was a recurring time on Pilant's digital spyware clocks installed in Booth and Brennan's house. The idea that Pilant was somehow involved is too far-fetched since he is long-dead. So the earlier time references from season 7 might have been easter eggs. ?

I agree that, overall, the series has been on the decline. As often happens, for whatever reason. But I enjoyed the finale for what it was, and thought it wrapped things up nicely. Viewers do themselves a disfavor by getting too literal and serious about details.... it's TV folks, not a documentary! Meant to entertain more than educate.

It's About Time
PartialMovieViewer2 April 2017
Warning: Spoilers
This show went from being one of my favorites to being an irritating mess. Originally the show dealt with the quirkiness of Temperence and how she interacted with Booth and, to a lesser degree, the minor characters or 'Squints.' This program was strictly about the two main stars and not sideline crowd. The occasional side story about Angela or whoever, was fine...but not all the freaking time. These people were a good supporting cast and that's it. None of them are stars and could never carry their own shows. If that is not enough the powers-to-be introduced some even smaller and less interesting players who were brought in to help Bones chop up bodies. Well they wouldn't have had to do that if they hadn't locked up the best and funniest assistant for murder. What were they thinking? Well these uninteresting strangers were introduced, each having their own stories, or problems. Sheesh...talk about stretching. And none, I mean none of these minutiae generating characters were even close to being as interesting as Bones or Booth. Is this enough? No it is not. As with anything spawned from the Hollyweid producers and directors they have to always interject their politics...why? I don't care about the silly social sensitivities or elitist political views of some nubby Hollywierdo...I really don't. In closing, I will miss the old show, I really do, but too many bridges were burned getting to this point - just finish it and stop trying to keep this circus interesting. I had to give this show 10 stars, because ending the program is the best thing to do for the show.

So that was it?
borisamiranda23 April 2018
Seen all of the episodes back to back during these last 2 years now I must say that this last season has been a big disapointment. And after seeing this as the final final chapter makes me also a little angry . "mid season"-final yes, but not as an ending worthy of the otherwise really good show.

Ridiculous Ending to a Lovable Show
Phillyfan09929 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
'Bones' has always bordered on ridiculous, though usually in a fun and lovable manner. The series finale of the show, however, should be an episode that epitomizes the best of the show, while maintaining realism. 'The End in the End' was an episode that I have been waiting to see for the whole season. As the season progressed, and it became apparent that no other previous killers would come back to wreak havoc on the team, I slowly began to lose interest; Kovak just isn't a scary serial killer to me. From a show that has produced terrifying killers such as the Gravedigger (although the ending to that arc was horrible) Puppeteer (ditto), and Gormogon (ditto, what do you know!), I expected a better serial killer arc for the finale. Anyway, regardless of this, I still looked forward to the finale; I anticipated that the beloved characters would be placed in a precarious situation, and that one or two may even die. What actually happened, however, was simply ridiculous. Brennan, Booth, Hodgins, and Angela are trapped inside the Jefforsonain when a massive bomb explosion, set by Kovak and his partner, occurs (of course everyone else gets out of the building in time, but whatever). After the bomb goes off, it is quickly revealed that all four characters survive, although Brennan seems to have some brain damage. The fact that all four survive such a massive explosion is remarkable in itself. Anyway, they end up getting rescued from the rubble, and start to hunt Kovak, through both the bones and his movements. In an unbelievable turn of events, they return to the wreckage that is the Jeffersonian and, somehow, manage to find the bones, which is conveniently lying in a pile with other victims' bones. Brennan is unable to comprehend complex data due to the brain injury, which means that she is unable to help with the bones. They enlist the help of the squinterns, who also travel to the Jeffersonian and set up a lab, inside the building that is structurally unsound due to the explosion from just hours prior. They eventually find out whatever they need to place Kovak, without Brennan's help. Meanwhile, Aubrey and Booth (who is also working despite suffering injuries from the explosion) question Kovak's wife again, and it is quickly revealed that she is, somehow, Kovak's sister. This is quite a jump, and is absolutely unrealistic. The manhunt for Kovak begins, and Booth and Brennan are on the case! The couple actually travels to hunt down Kovak, with a few other FBI agents, and Booth gets injured. Miraculously, Brennan regains her ability to understand Bones just as it seems that Kovak may kill Booth due to the injury to Booth's hand. She fixes his hand in record time, and Booth picks up his gun - with his previously unusable hand, just seconds later - and shoots Kovak, sending him into his own bomb, exploding him. This is basically the final scene of the series, although Booth and Brennan have their moment, and it is revealed that Cam and Arastoo will adopt three teenage boys (just days after their wedding; what?), Aubrey will stay in D.C., and Hodgins will be the interim "king of the lab" (this reference I actually enjoyed). Zach is nowhere to be found; the writers missed a good chance to have him enter and save the day by revealing in the penultimate episode that he would spend another few months in prison before his sentence would be reversed. Sweets is also barely referenced, despite spending about eight years on the show. Also, nowhere to be seen is 'Hot Blooded,' despite Booth mentioning it! Why this song didn't play during the final scenes is beyond me. Finally, the writers could have saved themselves just a bit by showing archive footage of memories, but they fail to capitalize on this obvious opportunity, and end the show extremely disappointingly. I loved 'Bones' for most of its run, but its finale is one of the most disappointing finales that I have ever seen, if not the most disappointing. I expected more out of you, 'Bones' writers. But, then again, looking at these past few seasons, I guess I shouldn't have.

Totally implausible & unbelievable
momdcb16 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
While I understand the need for an "explosive" ending to the series, there's too much wrong with this episode. The fact that the bomb(s) were forceful enough to destroy steel reinforced concrete walls & ceiling, the likelihood of everyone inside sustaining minor scrapes is ludicrous. After Brennan is examined by a neurologist & him finding (presumed) damage to part of her brain she should have been immediately taken to a hospital for further testing. Worst is showing the characters being allowed to reenter the destroyed building before it's even been inspected by engineers. Finally, having the characters sort through thousands of scattered bones, and then Brennan dismissing the interns to try & complete the task alone is ridiculous. Overall, for a show that has tried to follow scientific protocol to fall so far short of any logical action is pitiful.

Completely disappointing!
sbull19831 April 2017
Don't get me wrong this was a good episode, but it was not worthy to finish the programme! It was just another episode, nothing more. I just watched the Grimm finale and it was fantasti, couldn't have asked for any more, but this is truly SO disappointing! All ended with no big, spectacular, this is what we're made of, look what's to come, here's a glimpse of the future! Failure, completely!

What a disappointing end :(
meyrelles11 April 2017
Couldn't agree more with the review of Phillyfan099. Word by word. I just don't give 1 star because of the last two songs chosen to end the show. They were (are) indeed a good choice. That said, I raise it to 2 stars. I don't want to talk or refer to any scene in particular but in an overall point of view things don't go like this... and it was not the spirit of the show neither. What an horrible and disappointing way to end this show! :(

Just another episode
dracforever15 September 2018
Entertaining as this series was for a while, I binge watched the whole series to see how it ended up since I missed the finale when it aired. Not terrible but mediocre at best. Perhaps the final message is that life finds a way to go on despite what has happened? I choose to believe this to avoid thinking the ending was kind of a lame cop-out for some tired writers out of ideas.
