Great start to a great season

Like the inmates of Litchfield, Americans are angry and ready to see an end to the social injustices that continue to go unchecked in our nation. This episode, and the season in general capture the spirit of unrest that many feel and rebellion that many desire. Additionally, like the last half of the fourth season, it highlights the atrocious conditions created by the prison industrial complex and especially for-profit prisons that many people are apparently unaware of. The actions of the inmates and their subsequent reactions are thought provoking and compelling. The story is inspiring and reminds us that unity is essential to any movement. Much can be accomplished when we work together, so long as we stick together.

A little slower episode after a power pack season ending.

Orange is the New Black Season 5 Episode 1

Review : The last episode of the previous season ended quite thrilling but the first episode of this season is not so interesting but can be said to be a little slow.

Acting : Everyone's acting is good

Direction : The direction is not too bad.

Story : The writers may have slowed down the story a bit to give it a new twist. The story of this episode would have been better if it had been a little faster.

Dialogue : Not used in a very high quality dialogue but what is being done is fairly straightforward.

Background Score : Not too bad, not too good.

Soundtrack : Pretty good.

Cinematography : Like every episode, this episode is good enough

Editing : Good.

Lighting : Good.

Overall Episode : Judging by all, it can be said that I gave the episode only 8 out of 10 stars.

Missed opportunity

Warning: Spoilers
This could have been a tense, captivating episode, but they packed it with nothing but jokes and non sequiturs that it dials back any meaning. There's a riot and shots fired, and like no one is taking it seriously. Talks about marzipan and and salty snacks.

Not a fan.

Warning: Spoilers
The undercurrent of political narratives is emerging as the sole current in the sea of what was a decent prison drama/comedy. The consistent dehumanization by/of BLM members and other groups only serves to perpetuate a conflictive society and the only way to move past such conflict is to, you know, actually move past it. Constantly re-spinning these notions is a disservice to a peaceful, harmonized, and multicultural society.

Get back to character and story development, and keep it there. Don't turn this show into a weapon.
