WWE Fastlane (2016 TV Special) User Reviews

WWE Fast Lane felt like I was stuck in traffic. It was a frustrating watch.

Like the previous year's event, 2016's Fastlane received generally mixed reviews from most wrestling fans. For me, I found the WWE Network special event to be, below standards. It was a total letdown. I kinda wish the previous Elimination Chamber PPVs that use to lead up to WrestleMania would returned. That, or bring back the No Way Out 'Steel Cage' gimmick matches, back. As least, it would make these B-List mega card wrestling events seem somewhat relate to pro-wrestling, rather than seeming like a rip-off NASCAR rally. Plus, having big risky matches, make the event seem somewhat special. Instead, we got a wrestling card that seem that like, the wrestlers were trying to not to put out, good matches, to avoid, getting injury before next month, WrestleMania event. No wonder, why the Cleveland crowd wasn't much into it. The first match on the card looks promising, with Alberto Del Rio challenging U.S Champion, Kallisto in a 2-3 Fall Match for the United States Championship. In my opinion, while, the feud between them, isn't anything new, I felt that both wrestlers, really outdoing their last encounter at 2016's Royal Rumble. It wasn't so botchy and told a kinda good inside wrestling story. However, it's a preshow match so not a lot of viewers saw it. Instead, most viewers were greeted with a Divas Tag Match with Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks VS Team B.A.D. (Naomi and Tamina), which was just alright. Surprisingly, WWE didn't play up the tension between Banks and Lynch other than in the opening. That's where the heart of this story should have been. It's clear that WWE is saving the expected implosion between the reluctant partners for later. Maybe, next month. It's just sad, that commentators barely talk about the match. It made the match, seem very not important. The ending was very predictable. The next match is between Intercontinental champion Kevin Owens Vs Dolph Ziggler for the title was stiff and hard hitter. However, I found the match, to be average at best. You really don't see, anything new between these two. These two, have fought each other, millions of times, before, on free-TV and you can really tell, how similar, this match was to the others. Plus, Dolph Ziggler is trying too hard, to pay homage to ex-wrestler, Shawn Michael. The similar ring gear, the Sweet Chin music taunt, and now, the Super-kick. It's getting kinda annoying for a baby-face to do that. He need to turn heel, or get off, WWE TV for a while. Some people are getting tired of him. Talking about people getting tired of certain wrestlers. Big Show, Ryback and Kane are versus the Wyatt in a 3 man tag. Without spoiling, who won, all I have to say, it makes the 'new face of evil' look super ass weak. Lame. Plus, Ryback really does look like WCW wrestler, Goldberg, now with his new trucks. Also, the camera crew, really miss a lot of spots in this match. So, you really don't see much. The next match is between Divas Champion, Charlotte and Brie Bella. I'm probably, one of the few that honestly like the story-line build up, between these two. However, I do see, that both female wrestlers, are relying too much on their famous male relative to get them, over with the fans. In the end, the match end, very predictable, with Charlotte, not selling much of any of Brie Bella's offensive. The next match between AJ Styles Vs Chris Jericho is probably one of the best highlights of the night, despite Jericho being older and slower. I love this feud. Hope, it's continues. One thing, I wish, didn't continue is the 'Cutting Edge Peep Show' with Edge & Christian with The New Day (Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E). Awful jokes. Confusing and long build up & not clear, heels & faces, made this sequence, really bad. The event get even worst, with the next match, Curtis Axel Vs R-Truth. You can tell, that the fans weren't into this sequence. It wasn't funny, nor entertaining. The main event is finally up, with Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose fighting in a Triple Threat for a Number 1 Contender Match at WrestleMania. Without telling you, who wins, I have to say, the match was alright; however, very predictable. Yes, once again, the WWE Championship wasn't on the Line. I guess, with that. It's clear, how much, a B-List event, it is. Also, Lesnar must have a no-clean losing cause in his contact. It's getting somewhat annoying, how over-strongly built, he been getting as of late. Overall: This Fastlane PPV is worse than the last year. While, it serve its point as a build-up event to WrestleMania. It didn't make me, interested much to the next event. Hopefully that show would be great, but I'm not looking forward to, as I should had. Fastlane in the end, was a car-crash show. Not a good watch.

Same boring and totally predictable

A good time pass but don't expect any sort of mind blowing entertainment .WWE needs to improve on their story line and please for God sake bring something new to your feuds .WWE used to be fun when i was a kid not because of the attitude era not because of better story lines ,it was because of the fact that i was watch it for the first time and now with pay per views like these the story line is getting so repetitive and obvious that it's no longer fun , bringing part time wrestlers in for better ratings is no way to solve the problem. The main problem is lack of creative ideas The Wyatts vs Ryback,Big show and kane how pathetic is this match combination ,where do they get stupid ideas like this from anyway? Only one championship has any value now and that is the WWE World championship the other belts are a piece of junk .
