We finally get to see Freiza and Goku have their fight. While they still don't do much, I at least think that the side characters got a better deal than they did in other Dragonball incarnations. Piccolo's death is mostly pushed to the side. How many times has that guy sacrificed his life? Vegeta can tell that Freiza and Goku are just messing around at first. He gets frustrated and simply says he wants to fight both of them if they're just toying around. The episode's best part is at the end when Goku becomes the Super Saiyan God.
Well, he doesn't actually become the Super Saiyan God. He claims that it's actually a Super Saiyan Super Saiyan God. I love how even Freiza is confused by how this new form is named. They do explain that he's trained to the point where he doesn't need other Saiyans to help him transform. It does make me wonder. If he was able to hold his own against Beerus as a Super Saiyan God, could he really beat him with this new transformation? Eh, maybe we'll get into it eventually. ***1/2
