The title, "Aporia," is ancient Greek and means "an impasse, difficult of passing, lack of resources, puzzlement." It denotes in philosophy a philosophical puzzle or state of puzzlement, and in rhetoric, a useful expression of doubt. It refers to Emmit's (Ewan McGregor) situation with Varga (David Thewlis); the selling of one's soul to the devil himself.
