After a promising one off film Agatha Raisin returns to Sky as fully fledged series.
The public relations professional who has settled for a quiet country life finds out that she has to pose as a married couple with James to get in with some local ramblers to find out if one of them could be a murderer as one of the rambler has been found dead and she was also in a dispute with a local landowner who would not allow access to his land and who has a butler always handy with a shotgun.
Agatha is rather keen to pass herself as married with James although he does not seem to be as keen.
We have had a 'will they won't they' relationships in comedy crime drama serials such as Jonathan Creek and Agatha Raisin has her work cut out because of the success of the BBC's Death in Paradise that does comedy and crime very deftly.
Unfortunately this first episode was poor. Flatly directed, uninteresting story and no chemistry between Ashley Jensen and Jamie Glover who plays James.
