A lot happens in this episode and I think it's at this point that the movie version was in fact better. It's probably because of how they get rid of Frieza's henchman. In the movie, Frieza killed them upon seeing them lose to the characters. Here, there's a fair number of them left standing and Frieza kills them again, but this time, he simply powers up to his final form and wipes them all out that way. Well, it was a pretty dumb move on Frieza's part seeing as how he just killed his own men who were all capable of helping him. Captain Ginyu also dies as he's easily killed by Vegeta.
Well, now Vegeta killed every member of the Ginyu Force. Gohan manages to power up to Super Saiyan, but it only so Goku and Vegeta could sense his energy. I did want to see more of these characters fighting to at least contribute more to the story, but I guess they have done a lot already. I like how Vegeta allows Goku to fight Frieza first. Piccolo's body is taken away to be resurrected. I did think he could reform as long as his head was intact, but there's probably a lot of mythos I missed out on. ***1/2
