It is funny! South Park brought dick jokes to us now all dank memes do it so SP has decided to go subtle and political.

What South Park did was bringing dick jokes, racism, sexism and all other forms of dark humor on to the television screen and making them everyday thing. We got so used to it that now we can't relate with the show not using them so often. What we are not realizing is, internet unlike a decade ago, is flooding with that kind of humor and South Park doesn't want to do jokes on those lines. It's a commentary on us all when that Danish man says how can we not find it funny. Why are we still stuck with dick in a mouth jokes? It still is funny. It practically invented the technique to bring such jokes to mainstream and when that's all we do all day following meme pages, loving trolls and inventing internet slangs on a daily basis, it decided not to do it. Period.

This season has officially flown over the heads of its audience.
evimchine1 December 2016
This season is just teeming with interwoven plot lines and has a pace, that makes in an amazing thing to watch. But this episode, they've officially broken the awesome meter and went waayy over the complexity level most people (in the US) can handle.

So as good as the show is, as unfortunate is the situation: If people can't follow it anymore, the most beautiful structure will look like meaningless chaos, confusing and empty, and people can't feel it either.

That's why we see so many people saying that it doesn't make sense, that they lost their ways, that it's not funny, or a mess… It *is*… to *them*. Which is a problem, if *them* — however limited they may be — are most of your audience and the reason you can finance it in the first place.

This is an old familiar pattern.

The same thing happened to Revolver, that film by Guy Richie, that was nearly universally hated in the UK and US, but is considered the best movie he ever made and nothing short of a masterpiece here in Germany and many other countries. It takes a *lot* of brains, and I'm not just talking about obsessive logic skills, to fully follow that film. I can completely see how it might just look like nonsense, if some of the parts went over your head.

So I'm afraid this episode marks where this Phoenix flew too high, and burnt itself on the clouds of the minds that lifted him.

Let's hope the show is international enough by now, that Comedy Central can just ignore a soon-to-come regional ratings drop. Because I'd be very sad to miss this, after *twenty years*, still best show currently on television.

WATCH IT … WHILE YOU STILL CAN.

Truly felt tension

Warning: Spoilers
It's so strange to see this show get more and more continuity. I mean, they abandoned Kenny always dying a long time ago, but now this easily has the longest running story of any animated sitcom I've seen now. Yeah, I do kind of wish that they would focus more on comedy. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of funny stuff, but the show is definitely more serious now. Yeah, I missed the member berries again. They are so funny! I'm glad that this is building up to a finale at the end of the year just like "Agents Of SHIELD" is. This episode features Gerald learning that the leader of Denmark is actually himself a troll and manipulated everyone to be their leader.

The early bits have the funniest parts. It does seem a bit slow moving. I actually really am sincerely intimidated by Kyle's mom. I mean, these are such strong emotions the characters are showing and we see how far they're willing to go to blame each other. I guess something about Heidi is going to be revealed, possibly by Butters. It was funny how Butters said nice words at first, but then just swore. Was Kyle's mom being locked in the pantry a reference to "The Shining"? I was trying to look for Easter eggs when Heidi turned the numbers into emojis and unfortunately didn't find anything noteworthy. ***1/2

Appropriately named

How many more completely unfunny episodes can I watch before I give up on my previously favourite show?

The show is even worse than recent Simpsons. Vulgar, political crap.

Didn't laugh once.
