Fantastic

Its a shame that its taken all of the first season to get us to this point in the show but Fear of the walking dead season 2 is every bit as good as The walking dead. The acting is of high quality and this episode has set things up nicely for the rest of season 2 and future seasons. Please do not be put off by the negative review, in my opinion anyone who gave this show a negative review is only doing so because they are comparing it to "The walking dead" series.

I loved the episode

Warning: Spoilers
I was wrong to choose watching Game of Thrones episode 2 before this. This episode was awesome! There was a whole lot of adrenaline rush in this episode. Love how the story is building up. It has definitely lived up to the TWD standards. All the actors are so good with their characters. Coming to the specifics, Alicia is a kick-ass in the making. Nick was amazing as always. Strand was right about him. His craftiness and resourcefulness will be the extremely useful to the team. No wonder he is a favorite of a lot of the FTWD fans. As for Strand - I'd say I did not see that coming. I'm definitely going to watch FTWD episodes over Game of Thrones now. I'm sure the show creators have some more cool zombie action lined up. They are going to Mexico after all.

Could Have Been the Best Episode
claudio_carvalho5 August 2016
Nick goes to the coast to seek out Strand's associate Luis Flores. Meanwhile, a group in a raft asks for help for a pregnant woman. Strand foresees that they want to take Abigail, but his weapon was unloaded by Daniel and he tries to flee in a craft. However one of the men shoots him and the boat sinks. Alicia recognizes the voice of Jack and he protects her from his violent partners Reed and Vida. Travis is forced to start the dead ship while the leader of the invaders Connor comes on board. Strand recalls his relationship with Thomas Abigail and Luis Flores. Will the group survive the attack?

"Blood in the Streets" could have been the best episode of "Fear the Walking Dead". The story is full of action and unexpected situations. Unfortunately, the writer decided to include the sexual preference of Strand as a homosexual in a complete mess with the horror genre. Fans of horror are interested in seeing zombies and gore, and not a man kissing another man. My vote is end.

extremely good

Warning: Spoilers
2x4 Rating: 8.7/10

Storyline: Nick swims ashore in the middle of the night, having escaped the detection of a helicopter and a patrol boat. He arrives at a recently-abandoned refugee camp on the beach. After attracting the attention of an infected, he lures it into one of the tents and kills it, smearing himself in blood from the infected's belly.

Back on the Abigail, Travis condemns Strand for cutting Alex's raft loose while Chris and Ofelia stand watch on deck. A raft with two men and a bleeding pregnant woman approaches the Abigail. Chris wonders if he should kill them but hesitates. The passengers of the raft board the boat without being invited, claiming that the woman is having pregnancy complications.

Travis, Daniel and Madison rush upstairs and interrogate the strangers. Strand attempts to get his MP5, but finds the magazine removed by Daniel. Madison assists Vida, the pregnant woman, to a bathroom. Alicia goes upstairs and recognizes one of the men's voices as Jack, from the portable radio. The other man, Reed, punches Travis. Meanwhile, Vida smashes Madison's head against a mirror then ties her hands. Jack and Reed tie everyone up and hold them at gunpoint. Strand flees on a raft and is shot at by Reed.

In a flashback, Strand meets Thomas Abigail at a bar in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, soon after hurricane Katrina. Thomas tells Strand that he's in town to buy property. Strand explains that everything he owns is underwater. Strand assists Thomas to his hotel room, where Thomas passes out. Strand borrows Thomas' credit cards.

Fear of Black Heterosexual men Warning: Spoilers
It was actually a good episode, IMO.

Still I'm really tired of the difficulty the television media has with strong-- heterosexual-- black men. This seems to be television's last taboo! Strand appeared to be a strong and intelligent wealthy adult male who happened to be black. But having a major male black character on a television show, I was wondering how they were going to deal with potential romantic relationships with women that's usually part of being a major male character on a television show.

Of course, Fear the Walking Dead solved that-- difficult-- problem of having a black male character on the show by simply making Strand a homosexual.

But they've pretty much done the same thing on the Walking Dead. Morgan's wife was already dead before he even met Rick. And they appear to have no intention of ending his single status. In the comics, of course, Morgan actually had a romantic relationship with Michonne. Of course, Michonne is now Rick's current love interest on the show.

In the comics, Tyrese had romantic relationships with both Carol and Michonne. But on the television show, Tyrese, had an extremely brief (practically platonic) romantic relationship on the show until his love interest was quickly killed off of course:-) And, of course, the romantic relationship between Bob and Sasha was barely explored before he was killed off.

Its a shame that the original comic book is a lot more provocative and progressive than the television shows derived from it!

Actually i watched this series because of Alycia debnam carey . I loved her as lexa on "the 100" . Now I watched half of the second season and i wish i never watched it. Because she is really annoying here.

Although I like zombie movies it is still boring.

"Blood in the Streets" excels in building tension and developing character arcs, setting the stage for future conflicts and alliances
fernandoschiavi10 April 2024
On Strand's orders, Nick swims ashore in the middle of the night to find his contact in Mexico as the group pick what appear to be stranded survivors only to discover they are pirates. Strand tries to escape on a raft but it is shot and he's stranded. Through flashbacks we see him meet and fall in love with Thomas Abigail to whom he is trying to get back to after they were separated at the beginning of the outbreak.

When the leader of the pirate group arrives, he takes Alicia and Travis with him and leaves other members of his pirate group behind, to bring the yacht to shore. When Nick and Luis, Strand's contact, head back to the Abigail, they are able to kill some pirates and take one hostage. Madison is able to rescue Strand from the water and takes him back to the Abigail.

"Blood in the Streets," presents a riveting narrative that explores the themes of trust, betrayal, and the lengths to which individuals will go to protect those they care about. The episode begins with a seemingly vulnerable stranger, leading to a tense confrontation that tests the resolve and unity of Madison and her group. This encounter is not just about physical survival but also about the psychological warfare that survivors must navigate in a post-apocalyptic world. The episode cleverly uses flashbacks to delve into Strand's mysterious past, providing valuable context to his actions and motivations and enriching the narrative with a deeper understanding of his character.

The infiltration of the yacht by unknown assailants propels the story into a high-stakes situation that forces each character to confront their morals and survival instincts. This scenario is adeptly used to highlight the complexities of human nature in extreme circumstances. Characters are pushed to their limits, revealing hidden strengths and vulnerabilities. The episode is particularly effective in showcasing the delicate balance between aggression and compassion, underscoring the idea that in a world where societal norms have collapsed, the concepts of right and wrong become blurred.

"Blood in the Streets" excels in building tension and developing character arcs, setting the stage for future conflicts and alliances. The introduction of new characters and the revelation of Strand's backstory add layers to the narrative, suggesting that survival in the post-apocalyptic world is as much about forging connections as it is about self-preservation. The episode concludes with a powerful reminder of the fragility of trust and the harsh realities of a world overrun by the undead. In summary, this episode masterfully combines action, character development, and moral dilemmas to create a compelling and thought-provoking narrative that keeps the audience engaged and invested in the characters' fates.

Introducing New Characters
panagiotis199315 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wait, did Strand attempt to leave his own boat behind? That seems to be very out of character for him, didn't expect that. I mean I know he doesn't seem to care much about the survivors but I expected that he would care more about his boat. Why Nick would leave the boat without saying anything? Another dumb decision. Also Nick seems to really enjoy being covered in zombie guts. I knew that Alicia's dumb decision would have serious consequences. I find it weird that many of the male characters seem to have a ''babyface'', do they shave everyday or something? Ok so Strand sent Nick on a mission, things make sense now. Who is this Connor dude, I wanna know. Connor doesn't seem to be such a huge threat. He took Travis and Alicia? Things just got complicated. Damn Luis knows how to shoot. It's nice to see some of Strand's past. Very solid episode overall, my rating is 7.5/10.
