One of the best episodes of the show
lveasdonoso27 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This series is not The Walking Dead! This chapter was very good with some avoidable events but the chapter was great, and action to end up for everything, and the fact of seeing the passengers of Flight 462 was very successful, I hope the series continues, it is a pity that the people underestimate comparing it with TWD because it is a spin-off,and I feel that we must see it differently, as if it were another series, as if what we have seen in TWD not exist, because these characters have not gone through it already passed the group of Rick, they don't know nothing about survival. This chapter can easily be one of the best in FTWD, and I loved the part where Nick was covered in blood looking the Walker.

Best Episode Yet!
djtechnofreak25 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
So far i have been fairly disappointed with season 2 of FTWD, but this episode really stepped up its game, it had me sitting on the edge of my seat for the episode (like an episode of TWD) for the first time yet, the constant suspense created such a good composition that has restored my faith in this series (which i thought was impossible after episode 2), i would 100% recommend watching this episode, plus the ending was amazing when strand cut the rope, it left me in utter shock, i honestly feel as if this series is going to go up after this episode and i plan on watching the rest of the series, (if you can get past the first two boring episodes, you wont regret watching this one)

More Stupid Situations
claudio_carvalho5 July 2016
Abigail is anchored and Travis is trying to fix the cooling and the filtering systems that are clogged up with pieces of corpses. The group sees wreckage from a plane crash on the land and Nick, Alicia, Chris and Daniel use a boat to seek supplies for them. Meanwhile Madison confronts Strand about their destination in Mexico.

"Ouroboros" is a reasonable episode of "Fear the Walking Dead'. But basically there are two problems: first, Madison, Daniel and Chris are unbearable characters and hard to tolerate their attitudes. It is funny to see Madison confronting Strand instead of thanking him for saving her family. Second, the attitude of Chris (and the group on shore) waiting for the horde of zombies instead of pushing the inflatable boat on the sea. My vote is seven.

Post-Apocalyptic Brutality
panagiotis199315 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Wow a walker clogged the boat's pipes? Disgusting. Ofelia's wound is infected? That's not good. Daniel is wrong, they should accept help from the others, they are a team. So while they are on the beach Chris leaves the team to go investigate the plane crash while Daniel told everyone to stay close? Why do they have to make some dumb decision with each episode? Stop it already. Chris killing that poor man was really brutal. Seeing Chris' evolution from a guy who wouldn't hurt anyone to a guy who kills walkers and humans is kind of awesome. Nick just realized that being covered with walker guts make you invisible to them. Wow what an ending with Strand leaving these people behind, extremely brutal, I didn't expect it. Very solid episode overall, my rating is 7.6/10.

"Ouroboros" balances action with character-driven storytelling, advancing the narrative while probing the ethical complexities of a world turned upside down by the undead
fernandoschiavi10 April 2024
In the middle of the ocean, Alex swims to her wounded companion, Jake, after surviving the crash of Flight 462. She brings Jake to a raft with other survivors. Days pass, and Alex is pressured to into putting Jake out of his misery but refuses and kills anyone that tries.

While Travis repairs the boat due to a walker caught in the engine, Madison confronts Strand about his destination, which Daniel has discovered to be Baja California, Mexico. Nick, Alicia, Chris, and Daniel go ashore to scavenge supplies from a plane crash as Ofelia's wound is infected and needs antibiotics. While there, Chris finds a survivor that he's forced put kill out of mercy, shattering his mental state even more. Nick discovers that being covered in infected blood will keep the dead away and finds Amoxicillin for Ofelia. As the dead swarm the beach, the group comes across Alex and Jake and, after a debate, they are allowed to say at least in the raft until Strand severs the tow line as Madison looks on.

"Fear the Walking Dead" Season 2, Episode 3, "Ouroboros," intensifies the series' exploration of survival and morality against the backdrop of the apocalypse. The episode begins with the aftermath of a plane crash, offering a stark juxtaposition between the desperation of the survivors and the relative safety of the main group aboard their yacht. This setting provides a fertile ground for the exploration of themes such as desperation, resourcefulness, and the clash of differing survival philosophies.

The centerpiece of "Ouroboros" is the scavenging mission on the beach, where members of the main group encounter survivors from the plane crash. This scenario is rife with tension, as it not only presents physical danger from the walkers but also psychological and ethical dilemmas about whether to assist other survivors. The episode excels in depicting the raw and often brutal choices characters must make, emphasizing the survival-of-the-fittest mentality that has begun to take root. The beach scenes, with their chaotic blend of action, horror, and heartbreak, highlight the series' capability to blend character development with high-stakes drama.

"Ouroboros" also delves deep into character arcs, notably Strand's secretive nature and the growing leadership of Madison. The dynamics aboard the yacht underscore the fragile alliances and trust within the group, setting up future conflicts and character growth. The episode ends on a haunting note, suggesting that the dangers of the human psyche can be as perilous as the undead. In conclusion, "Ouroboros" is a standout episode that skillfully balances action with character-driven storytelling, advancing the narrative while probing the ethical complexities of a world turned upside down by the undead. It serves as a grim reminder of the cost of survival and the sacrifices necessary to maintain a semblance of humanity in a world that has all but forgotten it.

Storyline: In the middle of the ocean, Alex swims to her wounded companion, Jake, after surviving the crash of Flight 462. She brings Jake to a raft with other survivors. Tom, one of the survivors, smacks an infected passenger with an oar and pushes him overboard.

Days pass, and Tom tells Alex that Jake is dying and urges her to kill him before he turns. That night, Alex stabs Tom when he tries to kill Jake in his sleep. Michael, the remaining survivor, encourages Alex to put Jake out of his misery.

On the Abigail, Strand tries to call his contact via satellite phone to confirm that he is coming. The phone cuts out. Madison and Travis start to make love in their state room. The boat creaks to a stop.

Travis determines that the engine malfunctioned due to a blocked water intake. He says the problem will require him to look under the boat. Madison urges him to wait until sunrise, but Strand and Travis agree that they cannot waste time.

Travis scuba dives into the water and swims to the water intake. He sees an infected Michael flailing beside the hull, his arm stuck in the intake valve. Michael attacks Travis who panics and struggles to escape.

Later in the engine room, Travis begins removing backed-up sludge from the filtration system and informs Strand that the repairs may take all day. Strand snaps that they cannot wait this long.

The stupidity finds new levels
sjensenstrad30 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Best episode some other people write. These people most have same level of stupidity as the characters in this show.

Stupidity: The zombies are approaching from distance far away a lot of zombies - the zombies are very slow, in fact my 3 year old nephew could out run them.

Still the characters decide NOT to push the boat in to the water and sail away. No no they chose to stand and wait for the zombies to get near and attack them.

The stupid junkie dude decides to stand and watch a clever zombie from the edge of a hill.... yes on the very edge. Not like 1-2 feet in, you know just to be save. NO he needs to stand on the edge and fall down to the clever zombie.

It seems like the writers can only create suspense if the characters are acting stupid. Why the writers do not chose to make the suspense come in natural way is beyond my grasp. WHy we need to sit and think - "STOP BEING STUPID and lets have a good show"

Unrealistic and over dramatic scenes
lpirc15 March 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Travis is on the yacht fixing the water cooling system while Nick, Alesia, Chris and Daniel are trying to find anything valuable from the shore wreckage. When the group is attacked by about 50 zombies they couldn't find Nick so they start fighting zombies instead of going towards the boat. They stay at their spot at don't even consider retreating even tho it seems impossible to win the fight. Later Nick magically appears and they all return happily to their yacht. I think that this was most unlogical think so far. I don't like when main characters are immortal, because that makes a series so predictable.

Also from my engineering point of view I didn't like the part about yacht cooling system. Water cooling is supposed to cool the engine and not supply electricity. But when Travis pulled out that zombie hand from that filter which was shown as sewage tank (which in real life has no connection to water cooling systems), all the electricity magically came back.

I rate this episode 5/10. I hope that there will be as little as possible of this kind of events in future episodes or I will loose my interest in a series.

Perhaps the dumbest and most illogical episode ever!
randymcbeast25 April 2016
I was furious after watching this episode. It was hands down the most idiotic episode ever written, and that goes for The Walking Dead as well. Having watched every episode of TWD and FTWD, that's saying a lot especially given how dumb some of these episodes can be. I mean, there are many episodes that have moments of stupidity but this one was ridiculous from start to finish.

Anybody with a logical brain who watched this episode can't possibly think otherwise, which begs the question, "Do these people have anybody with a logical brain watch these episodes before they release them?". Apparently not it seems.

I won't spoil any of the stupidity but suffice to say that not one action any of the characters take makes any sense.

Why do I keep watching? Well, I do love the feel of both TWD and FTWD. Imagining oneself fighting to survive in a zombie world is frightening of course but I think we all picture ourselves and how we would react in such a situation. Not sure why we do, but the series is wildly successful so it must have some appeal.

There are also flashes of brilliance every once in a while but for the most part they just defy simple logic, which is so irritating since it seems it could easily be logical and still be entertaining.

This episode pushed me beyond what I can normally take though. These idiot writers need to hire some people to just watch and comment on if things make sense or not, otherwise there is no way this crap continues without being canceled.

One last annoyance I might as well throw out there. Some of the actors are horrible and every episode I'm wishing they would actually get bitten. Here is my list of who I would like to see bitten first:

Ruben Blades, Kim Dickens, Lorenzo James Henrie

Season them and throw them in a pit of zombies because they are just plain awful.
