FINALLY! Back on the track!
petrow-3130820 August 2017
Now THIS is the R&M I was hoping for. Clever jokes, nice references to the previous episodes, mind**** moments, excellent pacing and character developments. Both story lines were kept interesting, and small tidbits from movies like the Fifth Element or Honey I Blew Up the Kid were adding to the flavor of this one. I waited this part as a redeemer after The Rickshank Rickdemption, and it lived up for my expectations. Fingers crossed the will keep up the standard on the same level.

All good things to those who wait.

Warning: Spoilers
Finally. After my loyalty was put to the test the past few weeks, Rick and Morty is back. Finally an episode that made you wonder about the the entire season thus far: what took them so long?

But let's quit wailing about the past. This episode brought back everything that makes R&M so great: quirky humor and weird sci-fi adventures with a quality main and subplot and great dialogue.

Also, there is an interesting development here for both Jerry and Morty. Jerry seems to make his first careful moves into becoming less obsessed with being a single father and also, Morty seems to have grown more confident, he even has a few kick-ass dialogue moments confronting both his mother and Ethan. IMO, this episode underlines the great character potential Morty has outside of the familiar Rick-Morty dynamic.

After Pickle Rick, I had become rather cautious of the need for character development in R&M. But this episode (perhaps the best since The Rickshank Redemption) shows that if said development is properly blended into the familiar formula, this series has potential for at least one more season, hopefully more.

Weird way to bond
ericstevenson27 August 2017
While I personally didn't find this to be one of the best episodes, still great to watch. This episode features Jerry deciding to go on an adventure with Rick. They travel to a theme park but someone has been working with Jerry to kill Rick, yet another one of his old enemies. I kind of like how casual they are about going on their adventures. They really do each want to work with each other, albeit reluctantly. There's a zany subplot where Summer wishes she was more beautiful and while using a growth ray to get larger breasts, turns into a giant. I like how Morty is mad that this stuff is happening even without Rick.

The best part is probably when Rick, Jerry and this one alien about to kill Rick end up getting trapped in a wormhole and we get this insane animation sequence. Nowadays, we're used to acid trip dimensions. This one is still wonderfully creative as we see everything go insane and even have the characters learn from their experience! It's funny to see Rick go dumb after being injected so he won't cause any harm. At the end of the day, there isn't that much accomplished but at least they got to have an interesting day out. I think that one scene was a different reference to "Honey, I Blew Up The Baby". ***1/2

Classic Rick and Morty
collint200120 August 2017
While Vindicators 3 was quite lacking in some of Rick and Morty's classic style, they bring it back with this fantastic episode filled with everything I love about this show. It has great humor, weird worlds, character development and surrealism. It all mixes together to an episode that feels quite sincere and hilarious at the same time. Jerry is obviously struggling with his family, Rick actually starts to feel bad for Jerry, Beth doesn't want to rely on Rick all the time for their problems and wants to be like him, Morty is feeling anger over his mom's behavior and tired of the craziness his family has become, and Summer is having typical teenage girl problems. The arcs feel truthful and real. The world where immortality exists is fun and weird. The part where Jerry has a surrealistic outbreak after entering a wormhole is one of the most stunning scenes visually on this show yet. Plus, the Whirly Dirly seems like a ton of fun. Overall, a great episode!

sh**, this one is good

I don't usually write review for TV shows but when I saw the 7 points IMDb gives this episode, I have to move my ass and write this The first thing is there are plenty of people complain this ep is not "that" clever or shitty theory alike, but whatever, I believe the creator is doing an amazing job to give RIck more personality. For some of the first time, I can feel Rick "inside" me, he shows his feeling and stuff like that. For the sake of spoiler, I wont tell anything further, just want to clear that watch this ep, it still carries the original clever of Rick and Morty. That is, just get some friends and enjoy the show. Love to see more of this masterpiece

this season restarts from now
cwcitachi21 August 2017
in this season i think there are two kinds of twists

one is the character facing a choice, either A or B.

the other is there are 'option A' and 'option B',but the character chooses 'WHAT THE HELL'.

in the first kind of twist,'option A'was usually the conventional one, which means the character won't choose it,or it would be lame. therefore,it must be 'option B',which makes 'option B' pretty obvious without any surprise. in episode 2,3,4, i see a lot of this kind of twist.

but in this episode, the second kind of twist came back, and this kind of twist is the very definition of 'rick and morty'. yet ironically,it's a 'rick and jerry'episode.

Just feels like classic Rick and Morty
maxglen13 September 2019
Although I still love Rick and Morty season 3 at times feels like it's evolved into something... different. Not necessarily a negative thing but it's nice when an episode like this comes along that feels like it's ripped straight from the first season. Definitely one of my favourites of season 3

Finally, this feels a lot like Rick and Morty again!
djkv-6795821 August 2017
Fantastic episode. Clever. Has the elements and layers that made the show great; Proper sci-fi, good story line, funny, adventurous, outrageous, and the characters feel like themselves (again)- also the mesmerizing (trippy) scene is brilliant and stimulating. The 1st and 5th episodes of this season are in par with previous amazing seasons (1&2). Episode 3 was below par and 4th was a disaster IMHO.

Rick and Morty is finally back on track with an AMAZING episode!
connorsimmo-7885921 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
I was starting to question my faith in Rick and Morty over the past few weeks. The once clever and humorous Sci-Fi comedy had just turned into a dull sludge with it relying too much on graphic violence for its humour. But this episode took things back to basics and ended up feeling the closest to a Season 1 or 2 episode. The Jerry and Rick dynamic worked brilliantly and provided both laughs and drama. I love how the episode glances over big reveals such as Ricks cybernetic parts for more great character moments and jokes and the animation in Jerry's wormhole 'trip' was amazing. The B story was also handled very well. While coming off as annoying in episode 3, Beth finally seemed to be back to her old self which was nice. Overall i would highly recommend this episode. So far this is the best episode from Season 3 and i hope the show continues this level of quality for the rest of the season!

Best episode since the Rick and Morty Premiere! Keep this going!
mikeyo-1976523 August 2017
Don't give me wrong, episodes 2-4 were alright, but it was incomparable to the masterpiece that was the rickshank redemption. However, this episode nails it and surprises me with fascinating concepts, surrealism(Said in another review) and character development. This episode did all of that without dragging. The tone in this is great! The episode is different than season 2 and most of season 3's tone, but the writers execute their jokes so well that it doesn't detract from the episode. I hope the writers have more like this is store! Overall, I give this episode a 10/10

As the rest of this season, a terrible episode
dannyo-9646429 December 2019
Once again, Rick and Morty are mass murderers who enjoy murdering people, with little else to the episode. Zero with or charm, nor any clever anecdotes, just a bunch of murderers murdering various forms of life. Also the mother in the series has zero empathy towards her slowly dying daughter, and would rather cause her more pain than call Rick for advice.

A Jerry episode is precisely what this season needed
solarpanelshydroelectric22 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy" is a very pleasant surprise-a surprisingly upbeat episode in a thus far bleak season of Rick and Morty. By the end, everyone makes a little progress. It's also another episode to step outside the show's comfort zone-the main focus this time is the relationship between Rick and Jerry. When Rick takes Jerry on a "pity adventure" at Morty's request, the two actually start to bond....until Rick lays into Jerry and Beth's relationship. Jerry, in a moment of weakness, agrees ti be complicit in Rick's murder. Jerry soon comes to his senses, but a little too late, and the two have to fight their way out of it. Rick doesn't forgive Jerry easily, but Jerry makes a genuine apology, and a promise to be better, which Rick actually respects. Back on Earth, Morty, Summer, and Beth are dealing with their own story-line, which involves Summer growing to an abnormally large size. The main part of this I enjoyed was seeing Morty call Beth out on her worship of Rick. Her relationship with Summer makes a little progress, as does Rick and Jerry's. To keep this show from descending into Family Guy- levels of quality, the show's writers need to keep mixing things up and exploring the people that inhabit that live in the show's universe as well as the jokes. That's precisely what "The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy" delivers. Oh, and it was hilarious.

Not a Big Fan of Jerry, but This Was Pretty Good
Pickle-Rick25 August 2017
Jerry is that one character in Rick and Morty where he's just there and he has nothing much to do with the episodes he's in. In this episode he was actually treated like a main character, what he needed, sort of. This episode was actually pretty good. I still don't really like Jerry, but I enjoyed how he was treated in this episode.

Take action to bring Jerry back
amindostiari27 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Jerry is alone upset, and suddenly Rick comes and rushes him away. Wonderful start. The story was also interesting. Summer's attempt to become attractive did not work. Beth was not proud to ask Rick for help. The ending was also interesting. Really, if we want to be honest, whatever misfortune befalls Jerry is Rick's fault!

Rick and Morty at its Absolute Best! Warning: Spoilers
The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy is the best episode of season three since The Rickshank Redemption. And man does it have great storytelling and humour; put Rick in a position where he has to 'take care' of Jerry, his son-in-law whom he hates, and you explore quite a lot of character terrain that allows Rick to fully embrace his uber-critical-nihilism when he feels like it.

The B-plot of this one doesn't really have all that much in common with Rick and Jerry's A- plot; but we do notice that Morty is starting to show his inner Rick. He's sick of his antics but he's starting to channel his grandpa's cynicism. You wonder what would have happened had Morty gone with Rick in this episode? How would he feel about Jerry being accomplice in a plot to kill Rick, or that the two of them come to terms with their 'mutual hatred' of each other?

This episode we see that Rick isn't going to change as a person, but Morty is going through a massive one. He's almost on the same level as his grandpa, and we're going to see more change from him throughout the series.

If the last three episodes were disappointments for whatever reason, this one is classic Rick and Morty, through and through.

Horrific episode
dannyo-9646429 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode Rick's daughter watches her own daughter slowly dying, and then does not flinch as she literally causes her daughter's skin to reverse itself, all because she is too stubborn to ask Rick for advice.
