Finally, the end of the Maddox storyline!
LoveIsAStateOfMind17 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I really feel that the dragging out of the Maddox storyline has been to the detriment of Chicago Fire this season. It's just gone on and on and on. Even the Boden-framed-for-assault sub-arc seemed far too long.

Therefore, I am SO GLAD that the whole Maddox, Riddle and Patterson arc has finally been put to bed. Whilst I admit it was wrapped up well, nice to see Rachel Nichols on screen again and I enjoyed this episode, I am so happy it's over.

Now it's time to sit back and enjoy the "One Chicago" episodes and find out about Herrmann's fate (spoiler alert - I'm guessing he lives).

Chicago Fire's best episodes are the "standalone" ones where they have interesting fires to fight, not when they try to do complex story lines.

Short and Fat, forced dialogue galore
aarongnr20 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Not about this episode specifically, but what I've seen this show do sooo many times is use SUPER forced dialogue to lead the story.

In this episode Hermann says: He meant the whisky glasses, short and fat, just like you. Freddy replies: Take that back and Hermann: What do you want me to take back? Acting as if he instantly forgot what he said in the last sentence which leads to.him being stabbed.

Hermann would never say that to a kid like him. Its just forced. And this happens many times at pivitol story points. It doesnt really make the episodes bad right away, it just leaves me with a sour taste in my mouth.

Bully

Warning: Spoilers
That firefighter was rude as hell to that kid who was trying to help. He should have apologized for calling the kid short and fat. That is straight up bullying. Too bad the kid had a knife, but the bully deserved to be punched in the face for sure. If course 51 won't care what caused the boy's anger but that's how this show goes.
