If a creepypasta was a movie, kinda in the worst way

OCTAGON is good and bad in the ways that good creepypastas used to be. The visuals of this movie are jarring for sure, and I would argue that the effects and makeup are definitely effective. This is what makes the movie pretty uniquely scary, which I loved. A lot of the time, however, over the top and campy in its presentation. Too heavy on a lot of torture at times, and a MAJOR S*XUAL ASSAULT TRIGGER WARNING ON THIS MOVIE. The main achilleas heel of this movie is the inconsistent acting and writing, which ranges from laughably cheesy to intentionally strange and unsettling. Favorite short in the anthology is the Magician for sure, that was a trip

TLDR: Not great, definitely uniquely and interestingly scary. Worth watching, but understand its cheesy and overly intense.

So bad!

I've seen worse, not by much though. The gf is the best actress in the movie. At least she's believable, as the "star" is creepy, and not in a good horror movie way, either.

Uneven! Never great occasionally good.

Everything was uneven, the acting the presentation the visuals the effects. Talent lurks behind the mediocrity of the overall film and while this is an anthology the story that holds it together, not the couple but the greater story behind the couple is interesting creepy and well thought out the issue is in a few one or three of the chapters. Not a waste of time.

Warning: Spoilers
Octagon is not the worst movie, but it's not the best either. The plot is okay, I would even call it mildly interesting, with a man named Nicky attempting to tell and convince his girlfriend, Lora, that his nightmares are reality. The story doesn't really flesh out anything, and I was really confused by the end. The stories don't connect besides the ending scene and the overlying 'the boy is not a person' thing. Many points seem to be trying to allude to some supernatural being or world but I couldn't figure out what it was trying to say. I will say, I did watch this movie all the way through, and I am glad I did, but I was debating on turning it off after the first 20 minutes. I enjoyed some of the middle 'chapters', especially the Magician and the Woman, but a lot of them were very convoluted and don't explain events well enough to keep you interested, and the first and last acts are pretty weak. If Creepypasta, supernatural horror, and nightmare sequences are not your thing, skip this movie.

Great movie

Keeps you on your toes and always surprises you. The acting was good, especially to have several younger characters who did great as well. Keep watching until the end, you'll be surprised!
