Fantastic story about the Rosso Mille Migla
jaamgans15 June 2020
First thing to know is it is all in Italian without automatic sub-titles; so you will need to turn on the manual English sub-titles.

The acting is OK, with some possibly more well known Italian actors/actresses. What does shine through is the sheer sense of fun and enjoyment and oh boy, those cars are the real super stars.

Within the story of the Rosso Mille Miglia and how it works and showing off the cars, there is the underlying story related to the characters and in some ways the cars too - with some nice twists and suprises: 1) Where is the Superba 2) Did the grandfather really commit the incident he admitted too. 3) how involved was his partner. 4) Why didn't the partner ever race again. 5) Will the two co-stars get together.....

And loads of other questions which are slowly and superbly answered through the tale of he story... By the end of the story everything is fully revealed and answered.

Would I buy it? No. Would i watch it again? Possibly for the magnificient classic cars that are continuously praded through the movie. Worth watching? Yes, especially while free on prime.

Missed opportunity and not representing how the Mille Miglia really is
wim_cerstiaens9 May 2021
The story in itself is not bad, but the film is let down by poor acting. What also annoys me that is was clearly sponsored by Mercedes. Although the most successful brand of the Mille Miglia is clearly Alfa Romeo (with 11 victories against only 2 Mercedes), you get an overload of Mercedes cars. It does not represent what is actually the Mille Miglia. Horrible.

Entertainment for a classic car enthousiast!
vvangeus-894078 June 2021
Yes and no, the story is a bit superficial and could have been better put into it.

But it is a film that reads like a nice comic strip: you put it on again. Why? Well, of course the lady acts nice, but the cars and the enthusiasm around them are also In addition, we learn something from the makes of cars that took part in the competition at the time...

Who had ever heard of an OM 665 superba before this?!

Surprisingly entertaining European classic movie
zoldfulu20003 June 2021
The movie is surprisingly entertaining, when you fall for the nostalgia factor. It is a very nicely made European movie, with a lot of love for details.

At the same time, don't expect too much, this not the European Fast and the Furious, or Ford Vs Ferrari.

I am not a maniac of old European movies, but I love classic cars, and I have a nostalgia to the slow storytelling of European TV series from the 80s (see e.g, Schwarzwaldklinik). The movie offers that spirit without being slow or old. Its pace is entertaining by modern standards, as long as you accept that the family story takes over the podium from action scenes.

The movie brings back (really old) classic cars and actors, like Remo Girone (from the Iconic TV series La Piovra), who stands out of the cast. The main actors are quintessential Italian characters, something that I never liked, but in this movie I could somehow relate to them.

So there are lovely cars, family drama and a strange mixture of elements that might work surprisingly well.

Good Movie

Rosso Mille Miglia is a good movie. I appreciated the Italian release, in Italy, and I can confirm that he saw a good film product. The screenplay is light but in return, the photography, the image and the editing are very valid. The cast is suitable for this product and I want to praise the great performance of Fabio Troiano and Remo Girone. Great role for Francesca Rettondini and newcomer Rosario Petix. I think the director Claudio Uberti can be a great new director in the film industry worldwide. I appreciate so much the scenes where are historic vehicles main actresses that enrich the film a very lot. Big plus is definitely the soundtrack that even exceeds the level of the movie and gives it an important shine. The original soundtrack is unfortunately often hidden by the effects heard from the cars' noises, but the composer has created a variety of musical events which are no different to many Hollywood great pictures. Many pleasure to know this great Italian composer named Riccardo Rossini. Congratulations to the production. Film to see !!!!!!!

a great car movie about romance and family

Warning: Spoilers
The mille miglia is a italian classic race, and the fact they put a small drama inside the race is a nice touch, because not only this movie talks about how a couple do the mille miglia because love, but they found more about her past, all while we see the landscapes and the race. Obviusly theres alot of classic cars and real sound, so is part documentary, part drama.
