First Off the Island

If this show were a cast member on a mediocre season of Survivor it would be first off by unanimous vote. The pilot can't decide if its a slow burn or a fast break to the excitement. Acceptance that there are Hunters in our midst is treated with the same tired regard that there's ganstas in our midst. James Bond looks more surprised when M tells him Spectre is in Piccadilly. Reveals of mystery details are low, soft notes that do not land. Chase scenes burn cinematic time without building suspense. I watched until the end so I could feel justified to write this review, otherwise I would have bailed half-way through. SYFY has some good stuff - this is not.

In conclusion, I give this show 4.5 stars. I know there are many fans out there who will agree. Please, please, give us a season two. Give this show a chance.

I loved Hunters. I have actually watched the first season 4 times now. I think it is really complex & very thoughtful. You see that the aliens are both good and evil, just as you see that the Homo Sapiens species who know about and hunt them are good and evil. I must be the only person in the USA who loved this show if it is being axed after the first season.

I believe this show deserves a second chance. I think it could delve more into each character's background & also more about the Hunters planet and what happened there in greater detail. I think 12 Monkeys has been a big bore. Hunters is fresh & truly exciting, edge of your seat enjoyment.

I truly hope the powers that be will reconsider not renewing this show and we will be treated to a season two and three and even beyond.

Cliché ridden mess

Warning: Spoilers
Show uses that irritating insect clicking noise that every alien show has used since the dawn of time (I was sick of it before the opening credits by the closing credits I had the mute on for each time it turned up - I may have missed some awesome dialog but I really doubt it), add in a suspended FBI agent who served 2 tours in the middle east and now has PDS, young fit people who are so serious they are almost non- dimensional, a secret government alien catching agency, an alien bad guy who you already know will turn out not to be the bad guy, repeated camera refocusing tricks to convey the inner turmoil of the characters because they aren't good enough actors to convey it themselves, a character who pulls a gun from nowhere and uses it on themselves instead of the enemy who they have the drop on but use it only after they have given away the 'twist' or 'hook' that is so tired I could see the lines falling into a slumber as the actor delivered them. I will finish with something positive the use of the song Maid of Orleans by Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark was the highlight of the show - it is from 1982 and is the youngest thing in this cliché ridden mess.
