Lots of Fun with Great work from Stephen Merchant,

The Girl Code is a great Simpsons episode with a well written storyline and loads of very funny scenes. The main story was a lot of fun, while it started off somewhat unpromising, it only improved from there, as we see Lisa develop a software that stops people from making mistakes on social media, with a helpful voice named Conrad, terrifically portrayed by Stephen Merchant, who's British accent suited the part very well, often having me in stitches. Admittedly, it was a strange decision to have Conrad come to life, almost feeling more like a Treehouse of Horror episode, at first I thought Lisa was hallucinating, which was not the case, but I think this would have been better, as the development of the software had gone to her head. The side story was also great and added an extra layer to the episode, as we see Homer washing dishes at a restaurant in order to escape from social media, there's a great dance number in there and some hilarious new characters. The Girl Code is a straight forward Simpsons episode that is a lot of fun and ends on a good message.

After Homer gets in trouble for a picture Marge posted on social media, Lisa works on an app to ensure this mistake does not happen again.

Another lame Apple Suck Up Episode
Graggoz10 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The episode did not feel fluent. There is a lot of jumping around and no real good main story. Instead two stories that are not really well integrated.

It's also a bit of an insult for programmers pretending that second graders would get as an assignment to make a working computer application.

The constant Apple references are getting very lame too.

I really miss the old Simpsons when they actually made good and fun stories and were and episode had a clear arch of events and a proper ending.

The story with Marge causing Homer to lose his job by visiting him on the job had potential, but it did not get enough time to evolve good enough since so much of the episode was wasted on the App-idea.

Well, is it really so difficult to make a Simpsons episode like they used to?
santifersan29 November 2023
Firstly, an episode that features an unlikeable and cruel character as the protagonist, portraying it as normal, is not likely to be well-received, to begin with.

Secondly, it is an episode where characters express their emotions artificially and without any acceptable logical sense. The children's reaction to the feminazi character and Marge's concern about a trivial internet matter may come across as uninteresting, giving the impression that the characters are not on par with the audience's intelligence level.

Thirdly, Lisa's current role is not only artificial but also irritating. The current pattern in modern Simpsons episodes, where she takes center stage in a plot with little interest, merely to showcase her desperation to do something intelligent in life, is both annoying and dull.

What I'm trying to convey is that those currently producing and scripting the series will never understand that the show's early success was rooted in therapeutic humor, featuring characters relatable to the audience and plots that had logic and interest.

Nowadays, this is not the case because the businessmen who saw the series as a cash cow never needed therapy; they needed money.

Who finds it amusing that these businessmen are getting rich by creating an episode where they believe the audience will laugh at Homer dancing a Greek dance in a Greek restaurant? Congratulations, businessmen. I hope you're stuffing a lot of bills into your pockets while laughing at the audience.

Before Homer became a dishwasher, I was already waiting for this senseless episode to end.
