Blood Sisters

Much like the Hera-centric episode last week, this episode focused a lot on Sabine and a blast from her past that returns. I do like these centric-episodes, and even though I prefer the crew to go on missions together, it is great to get some real development from these characters their own missions. The new character we got in this episode was a real nice addition, and even though her stay was short, I do hope and think that we will get a little more of her in the future. Their relationship was something that I would have liked to know a little more about and maybe even have seen a flashback to, but for what we got here, I was satisfied. Again, there wasn't a lot of action in this episode. It was a little lacking on that front, but it didn't take me out or anything. It was more focused on being a more emotional episode, and I thought it did that very well. I do hope that we return to the main storyline soon and see a little bit more from the two Inquisitors. This is a good time, but I need to get a little bit more invested in the overall narrative than I am right now.

Loved the Hera-centric episode. Now we get a Sabine-centric episode. This one isn't as good, but it's still a decent filler! I enjoyed all of the cute droid interactions. The chemistry between Sabine and old friend was convincing and I'd be happy seeing more of her. Hearing Gina Torres voice a Star Wars character was awesome, coming from a Firefly fan here.

I wish there was more info here about there relationship, but I'm sure that's still to come.

Sabine-centric

Following a lightweight comedic filler with Ezra the main focus and a stronger filler with Hera taking centre stage we now get another filler with Sabine as the focus. This is even less substantial than the Ezra episode and is not bringing anything to the series.

The plus points are that it is quite pleasant to watch, has cute droids and Sabine gets to show her character.

I really think the Star Wars universe should never have such uneventful fillers because stick a good space battle, lightsaber duel and gunfight with a little bit of dialogue and any spare time can be filled very entertainingly. But this is not awful, just lacking in anything of note.

My rating: 6/10.

(Still) No love for Sabine

Warning: Spoilers
Plot; Sabine has a run in with a bounty hunter who happens to be a former friend.

Sabine is the one Rebels character I've yet to warm to, and this Sabine-focused episode did nothing to change that for me. The "rivalry" with her former friend felt forced (no pun inten... okay, pun intended) and fell flat, with the latter's eleventh hour change of heart never once in doubt.

Even the weaker episodes thus far have had a few things to appreciate, but "The Blood Sisters" never once moved the needle, which may be an even worse crime than simply being bad.

awful

Warning: Spoilers
Such an annoying episode. They started the confrontation with the stormtroopers in the hangar for absolutely no reason, then Ezra remained hanging from the ship after they were well out of range of the stormtrooper's blasters. There was no reason for him to continue to shoot at them other than for him to have to fall out so we could get this second reunion with sabine and this minor character no one cares about when sabine has to rescue ezra. A waste of an episode and what otherwise could have been a very good plotline. And if that isn't bad enough, sabine just abondons ezra, a JEDI BEING HUNTED BY THE EMPIRE, on the planet so they can get to the rendezvous coordinates with the gonk droid. This is, mind you, two episodes after the two were confronted along with zeb and chopper by INQUISITORS HUNTING EZRA AND KANAN. Why would she recklessly leave him where she KNOWS the empire is prowling about when he is literally exactly who they want??? Just absurd writing, even for a children's show.
