Hell on Earth
Hitchcoc1 April 2018
After another therapy session (will this ever come to some conclusion), Louisa is given a project. She is to take control of the relationship for a day. They are to go on a date. During this time, Danny, that jerk that Louisa was seeing before she and Martin got together, brings a group of church kids to Port Wenn. They are a nasty bunch (hence the title of this review), especially one boy who is mean spirited, getting into everyone's business. Danny takes this opportunity to try to move in on Louisa. She, unfortunately, tells him what is going on with Martin. Meanwhile, Bert is going full bore on his bootlegging business. Martin and Louisa can't see the forest for the trees as the story continues with another minor disaster.

Oh Danny Boy
TheFearmakers24 April 2020
Danny is the better looking boyfriend of Louisa than Doc Martin was a boyfriend or husband; a guy who you'd THINK she deserved. He's a Christian, and Doc, a Buddhist-minded grump (although I'm sure Buddhists don't act like him), doesn't like him for that or that Louisa once held a torch.

Thankfully this show doesn't bash Christians like American shows do, and Danny's a nice guy, pretty much, and likes kids and is a good person.

A sort of filler episode; then again you can just call it a Hangout Episode, which isn't bad as this is the best show (and locale) to hang in.

Another just okay episode

While I love "Doc Martin", I have felt frustrated with the last few episodes. I think much of it is because the whole issue with Louisa and Martin seems to be dragging with no change whatsoever. And I think this episode just seemed to make this more noticeable.

When the show begins, Danny (an old boyfriend of Louisa's) comes to town and Louisa seems to completely disregard Martin's obvious concerns about her being in contact with an old lover. Eventually, the viewer clearly sees that Danny is a real dumbbell--and he insinuates himself in the relationship and also nearly lets a kid die who is in his care.

An additional plot is the pharmacist and her husband. She wants to get randy...but he's having 'plumbing issues' (IMDB won't let me use the words I am comfortable using and so I am forced to use euphemisms for 'the nasty').

Overall, a mildly interesting but not especially remarkable episode. Yes, Martin and Louisa STILL are not acting like a normal couple and there's no end in sight.

A filler episode

Not much happening here. Once again a few Portwenn citizens have medical crises that Martin immediately figures out and saves the day. Louisa's former boyfriend, Danny was an annoying bloke and that side story was an annoyance at best. I hope the writers will move along the Louisa and Martin therapy sessions.
