Shortly after this episode aired parody news site NBC.com.co posted a story claiming that Yelp was suing the creators of South Park for $10 million for defamation. Several mainstream news sites mistakenly reported it as fact, prompting Yelp to respond, "As Abraham Lincoln once said, you can't believe everything you read on the internet."
Whistlin Willy is a parody of Chuck E Cheese
When Whistlin Willy throws the Yelp reviewers out of his restaurant, the scene parodies a "Sling Blade" (1996) scene where Dwight Yoakam's character throws people out of his house.
"The Yelper Special", a song from this episode, was performed at South Park's 25th Anniversary Concert in 2022. It featured actor Graham Bowen, from Trey Parker and Matt Stone's Musical The Book of Mormon, tap dancing to the song.
