In early 2014, Producer Joey Travolta conducted interviews with students from each film workshop location to determine who was prepared to work and travel for the expected time period (4-6 weeks).
Over 100 hours of 4K footage was shot over the course of 6 weeks, not counting over 60 hours of full HD film camp footage from Joey's camera crew, plus car cam footage & video diaries from the subjects.
Shot primarily on a single camera. Two other cameras were utilized for car cam POVs & three portable cameras were used by the subjects for video diaries. The first day of each camp was filmed with four cameras, three of which were from Joey Travolta's camera crew.
Elliot Cole Schneider first heard about Joey Travolta's short film camp in 2009 by his regional center coordinator. He attended the film camp from 2009 until 2013 when he became an unpaid intern.
Two of the subjects had studied medical related subjects or worked in a medical profession prior to joining the film program.
