The show is based on a cognominal novel by Strugatsky brothers (Arcady and Boris), Soviet-Russian science fiction authors also known as ABS among the Russian fans.
The novel on which this series is based was previously adapted by Andrei Tarkovsky in "Stalker" (1979).
