Let's talk
tenshi_ippikiookami27 June 2016
This episode of the "Vikings" lacks in the action department, but more than makes for it with lots of plotting, talking and looks that mean way more than they let out.

King Harald is here, and he is joined pretty soon by his brother Halfdan (cough cough, history, cough). Both seem quite interested in Floki's situation and queen Aslaug seems more than happy to see all three getting to know each other. And Ragnar is just happy to pass time with his new friend, Yidu.

The acting shines in episodes like this one, where all the characters have a chance to do way more than just fight. The new characters are bringing an interesting dynamic to the show, and Floki maybe joining them could make for an interesting challenge to Ragnar's power. The dialogues are good, and the delivery is great. And as in previous episodes, the direction is sound and stable, and the scenery brings the right mood.

Will they go back to Paris? It can't be soon enough.

The bond and the break

Warning: Spoilers
In tradition of seasonal raiding, the Vikings are preparing for another onslaught to Frankia. This year's participants are quite dubious, unlike previous years of merry comrades, this party consists of glory seekers. This is a more combustible setting, especially when they know they have more motivations to take down Paris.

Most of the episode concentrates on Vikings newcomers, the design and presentation give them noticeable visages. Both the new warlords have their own images, with the older one seems to be more ambitious. They even approach Bjorn and Floki while Ragnar appears to be detached from the other, he becomes weary and prefers the company of Yidu who apparently comes from deceptive background.

There are a few good shots on this gathering at Kattegat. The usual navy look is present, as well as the bluish air on the Vikings ground, but there's also a high rise view on the party while Ragnar rests solemnly on the roof. It's a different vibe, which I daresay more romantic than the general ambiance the series normally has.

A few other expansions occur on other regions, although these are the same prelude to the battle, be it may the defense of Paris or the preparation to reclaim the queen's throne. The best event happens by the hands of Lagertha, who merely says a few words but her touch utterly changes her fate.

Most of the episode is too boring but it shokes you in the last 15 minutes. Two kills by Lagertha and Ivar really impressed me

The Most boring episode in the Series
prasanyedekar20 March 2016
It took just 30 seconds of Lagertha magic to bring me back to life.. the rest of the episode was so boring , so talkative, so nothing that i actually had an afternoon siesta watching it.

The kid killing kid shot .. what was that about is the writer suggesting that FLokey trained the boy to be violent or are all Viking children born murderers ?

The entire personality of the series Vikings must be true to its origins.

The Chinese element can add a different training method where the Vikings learn of the art of war, which will help them overcome the French resistance.
