And The Third?
boblipton11 August 2023
Jasmine Thiré milks the goats. Eight goats yield eight quarts of milk every day. They make thirty small cheeses, which age for seventeen days. Then the postman delivers a huge, red dress, which floats before her. She enter its folds, finds herself in a cave or mine, then walks into town, slowly losing three buttons. One is collected by a man who saves it and notes it on a card. Another is found by a boy, who plants it in the earth and waters it. From it grows a hyacinth. Mlle Thiré notes it's a big, old world and she is young, but determined to enjoy it.

For the 60th anniversary of her first movie, Agnes Varda offers a simple fairy tale which hints at endless possibilities.
