Russell threatens the senator from Idaho with DEA flyovers from Boise to Coeur d'Alene, pronouncing the names "Boi-zee" and "Cor-da-leen." The names of the cities are actually pronounced "Boi-see" and "Cor-da-layne." The senator gives no indication of having noticed the mispronunciation.
When Matt Mahoney drives up to one of the Marine veterans' home his Jeep has an Ohio trailer license on the front bumper.
The Marine who wears the uniform on the porch with his wife says that the last time he wore the uniform was in '61. Two of the ribbons are Vietnam service and Vietnam campaign. Perhaps he stayed in the military, served in Vietnam, but, for whatever reason, did not wear that uniform again.
The American flag, when presented by the military, is always folded in a very tight, crisp triangle. There are no wrinkles ever! The former military guys handed presented a very sloppily folded flag. It wasn't tight and it had wrinkles on the edges.
The Marine raising the flag at the end of the episode is wearing the rank insignia of a Corporal, but has three service stripes on his uniform, indicating 12 years of honorable service. It is very unlikely that a Marine who has served for 12 years honorably is still at the rank of Corporal.
One of the characters is introduced as Staff Sergeant Bill Thomas, but earlier in the episode, he is wearing the rank insignia of a Gunnery Sergeant.
