Positive Feedback for Scout & The Gumboot Kids
mhjorth8 December 2015
With the premiere of "Scout & The Gumboot Kids" on Kids' CBC, the show's central themes of mindfulness and connecting with nature have caught the attention of some very prominent organizations in the field of environmental and social awareness.

Ian Hanington, Senior Editor at the David Suzuki Foundation, has endorsed the show's nature-based approach as he says, "children today spend less time outdoors then any generation in human history. Yet we know that a daily dose of nature makes kids smarter, more curious and creative. It's simple: Kids need more nature! We think the show Scout & the Gumboot Kids is an excellent teaching tool for families, encouraging them to spend more time outdoors connecting with nature."

Another advocate of the new family TV series is Sandra de Castro Buffington, Founding Director of The Globe Media Centre for Social Impact at UCLA, who shows her approval as she says, "Gumboot Kids is creating a "new normal" for an entire generation. This pioneering series transports young children into the practice of mindfulness and the magic of nature. The values of gratitude, appreciation and respect will stay with young viewers throughout a lifetime, creating a world we all want to live in."
