Last month, Matthew McConaughey’s wife Camila Alves revealed that her mother-in-law used to “test” her at the start of their relationship; now, McConaughey is reacting to his mom’s former strategy.
During a podcast interview last month, Alves explained how McConaughey’s mother, Mary Kathlene McCabe — nicknamed “Ma Mac” by the family — would do “all kinds of stuff” to her when she entered the picture, including calling Alves by the actor’s exes names.
“You don’t get into the McConaughey family easily.”
While speaking to Et Canada’s Cheryl Hickey in a new interview, McConaughey admitted it’s true, explaining: “My family is big on rites of passage and initiation, and you don’t get into the McConaughey family easily.”
“My family, we humbly wait, we make you cry, and then we pick you up and make your favourite drink.”

Is it time for South Korea’s TV drama series to move over and make way for Korean unscripted entertainment — namely game shows and reality shows?
While 2003 drama series “Jewel in the Palace,” or the more recent “Crash Landing on You,” “Memories of the Alhambra,” “Mr. Queen,” “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)” and “Descendants of the Sun” have for years successfully tugged at emotional heartstrings across Asia, the unscripted category has equally long been a staple of Korean domestic TV.
Korean variety shows have been a catch-all with multi-generational appeal. Talent contests have worked well in the home market, but often were too quirky — too much dialogue, or distracting titles flashing across the screen — which meant that they were best exported as formats rather than finished shows.
Examples of those include Mbc’s 2015 hit “King of Mask Singer,” which became “The Masked Singer” for Fox in the U.S. (and...

There is more to K-content than K-dramas. American reality TV has dominated the reality dating series world with The Bachelor, Love Island, and many more. But fans will find that a Korean dating series encompasses a different aspect of the dating game that does not seep into sexual drama, secrets, and gossip. While Single’s Inferno has gained praise, more series satisfy the dating desire.
Korean dating series ‘Pink Lie’ | via IMDb The Korean dating series ‘Change Days’ gives viewers a realistic level of dating drama
One of the Korean dating series that has captured interest is Change Days. Its format will hook even the most season dating series fans. Four couples are invited to the Change House on Jeju island. But these couples are far from perfect. Each couple has problems in their relationship, and arriving at the Change House will either make or break them.
Change Days has a big twist.

Disney’s prowess as an entertainment powerhouse is undisputed. Aaron Laberge, chief technology officer of the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (Dmed) division, argues that the company also has also built an industry-leading competency in ad tech.
Over the last several years, Laberge’s team has created its own advertising-delivery stack from the ground up, centered on the proprietary Disney Ad Server. The company deployed the new Disney Ad Server on Hulu last year — and it’s now also powering Disney+ with ads, which launched last month. Currently, the Disney Ad Server delivers some 500 million ad impressions per day.
“What you saw with ads on Disney+ was the first product to launch on that ad server from an end-to-end perspective,” says Laberge.

More than 600 buyers from companies in 30 countries are expected to be in Seoul, South Korea from Wednesday for the in-person return of the Broadcast WorldWide convention, better known as Bcww.
Although Bcww bills itself as Asia’s largest broadcasting content market, given the strength of the Korean wave, much of the focus will be on Korean content and the business of working with Korean companies. Registered buyers and potential partners include Amazon Prime, Warner Bros. Discovery, NBCUniversal, Pccw the Hong Kong-based owner of Viu, and China’s iQiyi, all of which have already become purveyors of K-programming.
“For the past 22 years, Bcww has served as a foundation for K-content to garner the global attention it is getting today,” said Cho Hyun-rae, president of the government-backed Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca). He added that he expects Kocca and Bcww to “provide continuous support for K-content.”

New Delhi, March 15 (Ians) Following the recently disclosed vulnerabilities in Microsoft business email servers, the hacking attempts on organisations using the services of those unpatched on-premises servers have multiplied by more than six times (or tripled) in the past 72 hours, a new report warned on Monday.
The country most attacked has been the US (21 per cent of all exploit attempts), followed by The Netherlands (12 per cent) and Turkey (12 per cent).
Most targeted industry sector has been government/military (27 per cent of all exploit attempts), followed by manufacturing (22 per cent), and then software vendors (9 per cent), according to Check Point Research.
"A full race has started among hackers and security professionals. Global experts are using massive preventative efforts to combat hackers who are working day-in and day-out to produce an exploit that can successfully leverage the remote code execution vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange," the researchers from the cyber security firm noted.

New Delhi, March 10 (Ians) Alarmed at the massive attack by nation-state threat actors including from China on its business email servers, Microsoft has announced the expansion of its enterprise-grade identity and access management protection service 'AccountGuard' to all high-risk members in 31 countries at no additional cost.

San Francisco, March 9 (Ians) At least five different hacking groups, including one from China, are currently attacking vulnerabilities in Microsoft's email servers -- described by the US government as "widespread domestic and international exploitation" that may affect hundreds of thousands of victims globally.
While Microsoft has already revealed that a Chinese government-linked hacking group known as Hafnium is targeting its on-premises 'Exchange Server' software, the MIT Technology Review now reports that at least "four other distinct hacking groups are now attacking critical flaws in Microsoft's email software".
"There are at least five different clusters of activity that appear to be exploiting the vulnerabilities," Katie Nickels, who leads an intelligence team at cybersecurity firm Red Canary that is investigating the cyber-attack, was quoted as saying in the report.

San Francisco, March 6 (Ians) In yet another big cyber-attack after SolarWinds, at least 30,000 organisations across the US, including government and commercial firms have been hacked by China-based threat actors who used Microsoft's Exchange Server software to enter their networks.
According to KrebsOnSecurity, the China-based espionage group exploited four vulnerabilities in Microsoft Exchange Server email software.
The vulnerabilities allowed hackers to gain access to email accounts, and also gave them the ability to install malware, according to Microsoft which reported about the China-based threat actors but did not reveal the scale at which tens of thousands of organisations have been hit.
Two cybersecurity experts who have briefed US national security advisors on the attack told KrebsOnSecurity the Chinese hacking group seized control over "hundreds of thousands" of Microsoft Exchange Servers worldwide.

At the virtual Cannes market, the Exchange is pre-selling political thriller “The Independent,” the narrative feature debut of twice Emmy-nominated director Amy Rice, starring “The Big Sick” star Kumail Nanjiani. Variety spoke to Rice about the film.
In “The Independent,” America’s first viable independent presidential candidate is poised for victory when an idealistic journalist uncovers a conspiracy, which places the fate of the election and the country in his hands.
Rice, whose credits include HBO’s “By the People: The Election of Barack Obama,” is scheduled to shoot the movie next year. The screenplay is written by two-time Black List scribe Evan Parter, who is writing the upcoming Amazon Studios Original feature about former Nixon administration staffer John Dean, starring Chris Pine.
Rice, who describes herself as a “political junkie,” says: “It is rare these days to come across such a thought-provoking political thriller, so the second I finished...
