Jack rocks.
gkeith_12 February 2017
Warning: Spoilers
Spoilers. Observations. Opinions.

Jack rocks. He gets attacked by a bunch of thugs, and first wimps through it. He then decides to beat the fight back, using his newfound metal body parts like the bionic creature who he is. Thwok. Bam. Boom. Pow. Take that, you Batman villains. Ugh.

Meanwhile, Lady Ev stands by in her beautiful mask, weakly telling the thugs that she commands them to stop. As if.

West gets a prize for exotic costuming. She wears black and dark burgundy colors, then later some sort of leaf outfit.

Lucas also gets approached, shall we say. He cleans these people's clocks, also. He is not an assassin for nothing. Yes, that is a double negative.

Tip doesn't appear wanting to help Dorothy initially, but later on West's obnoxious servant gets a comeuppance and Dorothy gets out of the dungeon. Those gold/ruby gloves didn't hurt, either. West is flabbergasted. You killed my sister. Indeed.

Toto to the rescue. He finds the little girl, who is amazed that someone cares enough to find her.

Dorothy roams through the festival marketplace, wearing a fox mask. She is on a mission. She has disguised her face, but on her back is her telltale brown leather backpack. Don't these soldiers have any intel? Dorothy walks into the wizard's castle, and notes his tiny cassette player has on Pink Floyd. Is this the 1970s/1980s, or is this medieval times? The wizard tells Dorothy that she is welcome home. Creepy.

The wizard's curtain gets pulled back. Is this the part where he reveals all of his weaknesses? Does he later escape back to Kansas in his hot air balloon?

Additional advanced technology: There is a super-genius monkey-projector that is hand-wound. It was hard to tell what film it was showing. It looked like Glinda, but it was fuzzy. I guess this monkey has better things to do than to grab Toto and take him to the witch's castle.

Everybody Lies

Dorothy is being tortured by the witch of the west. As she managed to get instant results by disguising herself as Dorothy's mother it is a wonder she did not try this trick first. Tip reveals herself to Dorothy and helps her to escape.

Jack's story as the Tin Man was more interesting. In servitude to Lady Ev, who actually wants him to be her friend. Jack realises the power of his armour when Lady Ev is attacked by some hoodlums in Emerald City.

The Wizard is having a musical interlude, listening to Pink Floyd comes across Dorothy and seems to recognise her.

Tarsem Singh does directs in a visually interesting manner, the script is a clunker though.
