Spoilers. Observations. Opinions.
Dorothy has changed. She is now adult, and a nurse. She is someone who helps others.
We get introduced to her mother, and we did not see this in the Wizard of Oz film. In that movie, Dorothy appears to be an orphan who lives with her aunt and uncle plus some farmhands.
In that movie, Dorothy has a dog who is her firm companion. A mean, evil busybody woman wants to put him in the "dog pound" (animal shelter). Toto is small and cute.
In the old film, Dorothy and Toto go over the rainbow to Oz and eventually head toward the Emerald City to see the Wizard of Oz. In this new series, Dorothy and large dog Toto (who is a police dog/German Shepherd) also try to get to the wizard.
I don't see any Auntie Em or Uncle Henry in this new series, but I like this new show.
Dorothy does not sing in this new series, but that's okay.
There are no Lollipop Guild or Lullaby League members meeting her, either.
