Danny is in real trouble, he's taken down a suspect, and coerced his colleagues into supporting his story.
This is a pulse racing first episode, the beginning is explosive, the show has previously focussed on corruption among the big power players, here we get the case of a more grass roots Sergeant.
Of course it feels like the story is black and white, but this is Line of Duty, so if course there's a lot more going on then appears on the surface.
Daniel Mays is awesome as Danny, for my money this is still his best acting role, Danny is an incredible monster in this aptly named episode, but not all is as it seems.
I love that we are introduced to Gill Biggeloe, one of the show's best characters, the glorious Polly Walker.
Sublime acting, perfect writing, and one of the show's biggest ever shocks.
Mesmerising, 10/10.
