I really liked this episodes with flashbacks to the brothers childhood, the brothers drama has been a little long winded but feel this episode makes it all worth it and how it all ties to the heretics is fun as well but the main highlight was the duel between enzo and julian.

Season 7 Episode 7 Summary of what I can remember

Caroline comes back with a pregnancy test in the dorm. Alaric is sitting and sets an alarm to ring in 3 minutes to see if it comes back as positive or negative. It comes back negative.
Stefan has invited their mother over for a pre-Thanksgiving talk. She brought cranberries. Stefan tells his mom he got Valerie pregnant and Julian made sure nothing came of it. After taking a sip of her drink she passes out. Stefan says it is concentrated vervain. The brothers tie up mom. They talk about old memories as Damon sits eating pie. We see a flashback of when Damon's father forced him to kill his pet turkey named Sami. Mom went along with whatever dad wanted and didn't intervene despite hearing him torture Damon with his cigar.
Mom tells her side of the story. She says that she used the stolen money that Damon was accused of stealing to buy three tickets to New York. She planned on taking the boys and disappearing. Giuseppe found out and threatened to take the boys and leave her if she tries this again.
The brothers try to get their mom to see that Julian is not so different from Giuseppe. Mom asks Julian when she is back at home with him what happened with Enzo. She is surprised by how Julian dismisses the sword fight despite them being linked and his wounds are hers. Lily then asks about Julian harming Valerie's baby. Julian denies doing it and then tries to cozy up to Lily by apologizing for his lack of comforting behaviour. He asks if she would forgive him and she replies of course. Lily said the same thing to Giuseppe back in the day when he asks if she would forgive him.
