I am surprised that it is quite good, especially that actor Wyatt Cenac as David. Also have to say that Laura Terruso wrote a pretty much good script where there's nothing to add neither to take. Very funny and relaxing movie in which by watching it you will laugh and maybe recognize yourself somewhere. I really enjoyed. :)

Stars wyatt cenac, who was brilliant writing for the daily show. Greta lee is his wife jennifer, also a writer. They have adventures on the way to a friend's party, and get separated. David runs into the cops, who are suspicious, but not at all helpful. We flash back to how they met, and how jennifer became an accomplished writer, even surpassing david. He ends up going to the party, hoping she will show up. He meets the wacky artists and pompous audience members. A young lady promises to help david publish his book if he will follow through on a dare. Will he do it? Will he ever find his wife? Written and directed by laura terruso. It's pretty good. It's a journey.

Pleasantly surprised and well written. The pace was good and the characters were believable and at times funny. I love a blockbuster and action movie but this movie was refreshing. Touched a little bit on racial inequalities and social quirkiness without being threatening and the relationship between the husband and wife was believable and funny. Sunday afternoon movie with a bottle of wine methinks. Enjoyable.

Everyday people feeling out of place in their social ring!

I must confess I adore Wyatt Cenac and this review may be a bit one sided. "Fits and Starts" is about two writers who come from average backgrounds and then suddenly find themselves thrust into the limelight of the accomplished literature community. Their reactions to situations they find themselves bound-up into is hilarious and thought provoking.!

A well written, acted, and scripted film!

A well-written film with unexpected twists and turns in all the right places. Completely caught us off-guard. An artistic rendezvous in New York with real world people in I'm facing awkward relationship challenges.

Fun and funny short film

I have no idea why this film is scoring so low on imdb. If you're into quirky characters who manage to tell a unique tale and wonderful writing that manages to still make into a relatable one, then this is for you.

Testament of brilliant script writing

This film is 80minutes but it is complete. Its comparable to a good healthy meal vs the processed food that is hollywood these days. Almost every movie is over 2hrs to hide poor plots and regurgitated storylines. This story is unique and extremely entertaining. I personally watched it twice within 2 days. No big budget...no big marquee stars....none of that is necessary for a quality story. Not going to give any of the plot away...just encourage anyone who loves art, comedy and non corny love stories to check this out....it is brilliant.

Not Everyone Is Going to Like This... but You Should if You're a Writer

This is one of those films which gets a lot of 10/10s for a reason, as well as predictable 1/10s. If you're a writer, and you've been in the writing scene long enough, this film is one horrifyingly enjoyable truth after another.

If you're expecting a slapstick, dumb comedy, you're going to hate it.

10/10 for me.

Really enjoyed the simplicity of this. Great writing/acting. The leads are very believable in their roles as they give a unique and refreshing performance; bringing to life a refreshing script.
