Great movie for a day in!
I found this movie by chance and was really glad I did, as it was surprisingly well made. If you don't like subtitles you should tough it out for this one. Great performance in the lead role by Paz Bascuñán, who has to run through the full gamut of emotions throughout the film. Although a little formulaic at times, this title makes up for it with great character development and a well thought out and realistic story. The beginning of the movie will especially ring true to anyone who has ever just had one of those nothing-is- going-right days. Although I like foreign films in general, I was never interested in Latin-American cinema until I watched this movie. I believe it's a pretty find in the way that it has something for everyone. This film is defiantly worth a watch on a chilled out day.

A funny movie that's easy to misrepresent
Sintz4919 August 2016
I'm writing this because I liked it. What I saw tho' is not really reflected in the "Storyline" nor the "review" that I just read. So, to begin, this woman is deep in the contemporary world of today. She's always under stress: at home, driving in the city, using her phone, working at her job, and she tries to cope with how one's life can be so remote and isolating today; especially if you don't stand up for yourself. I liked the lead actresses persona and her subtle use of her face to express her frustrations. All those affronts to her right to be treated fairly are shown as little sketches - almost SNL-style, but linked together by the story line. I was surprised to see my own critical view of today's world : from people who have little sense of human connection to impersonal things like trying to connect via cell phone to a business with a cheerful and maddening automated operator, asking for your pin# and giving you a huge list of categories for directing your call. Throughout these "skits", I was constantly watching the actress, Paz's, face. It was the expressive face of her likable character, with a good sense of absurdities, but who wanted to behave honorably and not make waves. And, No, the "Storyline" was wrong- she didn't try everything to remedy her pain; and no, she didn't decide to undergo acupuncture. On impulse she went to a highly questionable "expert" who did stick her with pins-before she could say "no"-, and he also told her she had to speak up and let out all the feelings she was holding inside. She leaves his office having little confidence in or understanding of what he'd done to her, but she does start venting, much to her surprise, and horror and satisfaction. Paz's depiction of this venting is funny, but at the same time, credible, also gratifying (for me) and ultimately kind of nasty! My ignorance of Spanish enabled me to savor her forever expressive face, her screaming, and the physical expressions of her outrage, almost like it was a fine performance in a silent film. I was watching and listening to her rage, or her private puzzlement without really hearing what she was saying, and I liked it. My suggestion is, if you are someone who might enjoy seeing a film who's main character picks you up and lets you ride along with her through today's world of trivial priorities and inefficient tasks while dealing with people who are totally blind to the messes they're making; then I'd say this film is a good one for you (and me). My main criticism is that in a late scene, she is explaining things to another character and she says, "people don't change"... and I think SHE has changed. So that line is odd. The person she'd said that to could have helped the script by just responding, "YOU have!"

slightly entertaining but mostly blend

The biggest problem of a comedy movie is that if you don't like the kind of humor is showing you're not going to like the movie at all, to me, this is the biggest problem of this movie, it's humor depends too much on absurd situations that are mostly based in a shock value and no intelligent humor, so, if you don't like this type of humor you won't fine much else, most characters are stereotypes with little to no character development except the main character who also is a cliché but at a certain point of the movie escapes from that state, technically this movie is nothing special, it's shooting was okay, same with it's soundtrack and it's acting. Personally i only recommend this movie to people who like absurd humor with no brains, if you do, you'll have a good time

Funny, cheap entertainment, nothing special

Warning: Spoilers
There is a little "spoiler" about the end of the film at the end of this review.

Same story as "Yes man" (Di que sí, 2004) with Jim Carrey, which was not very good. At some point it can remind you of Falling Down (Un día de furia, 1993) with Michael Douglas, which is better.

"Sin filtro", Chilean comedy, can provide you with some 100 mins of entertainment, if you want to smile without thinking too much. On the good side, everybody can feel identified with daily life situations described in the film: stress at your job, disappointing family, etc... And a lot of friends looking for solutions turn into esoteric, oriental philosophies, cheap advises from someone.

I'm from Spain, but some Spanish friends thought they could not understand some words of the dialogues because of the Chilean accent. There are some different words, but in my opinion you can perfectly understand the whole film.

SPOILER: SPOILER: SPOILER: SPOILER: ///////////The last ten /////////// minutes were /////////// ///////////silly for me, not //////////////////////funny and the script really /////////// ///////////end up /////////// being an self-help/////////// ///////////book. ///////////

Fantastic Comedy Well Worth the Time
bkrever-571778 May 2017
This is a fantastic comedy. The performances by the entire cast are outstanding, but the lead actress is particularly impressive. One of the funniest movies I've seen in a very long time.

Can't understand why it has such a low rating, but no doubt it's because it's not an English language movie. So what? If you have no objection to subtitles, and enjoy smart, funny comedies, you will love this movie.
