After Earl Kennedy's murder at the end of episode one, riots erupt across Manchester. It is war between the local Irish and Nigerian crime families and it is the Nigerian Attah's whose properties are targeted including a shop that was fire bombed which contained under aged workers, five of them who died.

Kim the boastful and cocky lad who killed Earl Kennedy is linked to one of these victims.

Nora Attah the tough matriarch revealed how she was once trafficked for sex to Britain by one of her own family. Her sister was killed but she escaped now she exploits the vulnerable herself.

DS Joy Freers realises she messed up when a young woman dies in police custody.

The episode while grim is still filled with black humour and the female centric police team resolve to sort out the mess. This episode mainly carries on the main story from the first episode with the minor story having less prominence.

Warning: Spoilers
The first episode of this series bored me at times, and to be blunt this one did as well, but they definitely amped up the action here. They stressed the danger of these villains, and really made you hate them along the way, so that is a promising sign for sure for this show moving forward.
