I really wish this show would have stayed afloat. It was so underrated anand original and the bromance is so real. A friendship like this does so much for a fun watch and I loved every second.

Lifelong best friends Sam Duvet (Sam Richardson) and Tim Cramblin (Tim Robinson) are trying to make their way in the world of local advertising in Detroit. Tim is married to Sam's sister Chrissy. Tim's father was a local advertising legend but those glory days are in the past. Their employees include elderly long-time secretary Sheila Portnadi, film school grad Lea, and Tommy Pencils.
This is fun stupidity. There is a real sense of friendship and a sense of a place. They may not be big names or leading men but their relationship really grows on me. They seem like great guys to go with to a Piston game. There is also the place. For the last few years, Detroit has been sold as a ghost town and urban blight. This version of Detroit is so much more appealing like a small town USA. The city couldn't be more charming and the guys would be good drinking buddies.

It's not the kind of show where you're going to laugh really hard at anything, but it's the kind of thing where you're laughing the entire time. I find the characters likable, it doesn't rely on being overly offensive, and it's fairly clever.
It's something I find myself enjoying consistently. They don't swing for the fences every time. That means it's not going to dazzle, but they don't ever fail. I hope it gets at least 3 seasons.

I don't know how this would play if I didn't come from Detroit, but I do, and I love the many references to Detroit culture: Mort Crim, Vernors, Detroit R&B and Soul Music...
The entire cast is terrific but Sam Richardson is one of those brilliant comic actors that comes along every once and awhile, like Pryor and Murphy, who have have instinctive comic timing and charm. He's instantly lovable even while his character is displaying less than a admirable behavior.
This show has its own quirky pacing and self awareness that makes it distinctly it's own. I hope people discover it. It's a perfect little comic gem.

This show is hysterical.
Two failing Detroit ad-men try to sustain their fathers' ad company, with hilarious results. Sam Richardson is great. I'm broken-hearted that they only made 2 seasons. I've watched and re-watched it many times.

I LOVE this show. The writing is extremely clever and funny. The relationship between the two lead guys is truly believable. I've worked at a small ad agency, and they get much of the feel of doing local work, although the work seems to be remeniscent I'd what an agency would do in the 80s rather than today. Still, the writing and characters are incredible, and the story arcs that bring clients and others across episodes in hilarious ways shows the level of thought the writers are putting in. It's a great half hour to let loose and enjoy.

This was such a unique, hilarious show and can't really imagine why it was canceled. With all the mediocrity that garners attention nowadays, this show deserved a bigger audience. Watch "Smilin' Jack" featuring Keegan-Michael Key. It'll make you're day ... every time you watch it.

What...? Laugh-out-loud funny with a very minor backdrop of social commentary, but not really. Fantastic writing, acting, improv, even funny camera work. So mad they canceled it.

Detroiters is a show that is willing to be absolutely ridiculous while still telling a story that takes place in the real world. The show is shot on location in Detroit and the guest stars are usually people from detroit. That's the best part of the show, detroit itself is a character in the show, one that the two stars make fun of in a loving way. Detroit is as essential to Detroiters as New York is to When Harry Met Sally. The adds made in the show are based on the adds the two stars of the show watched growing up in detroit. In real life Tim is married and Sam is single. In real life both of the lead actors are best friends. This show is wonderfully original and surprisingly autobiographical, there's nothing else like it. If you are ready to watch a show that is orriginal, funny, and heartwarming, watch detroiters.

I just finished the first season. It's funnier than most shows. The pilot wasn't that great but I'm glad I continued because the 2nd episode was hilarious. I love that Pat Harris has got her first decent acting gig at such an old age. The 2 leads are decent, the writing is the real winner though.
Update: I finished season 2. It stayed consistently funny. Hopefully they'll get a third season.

This is an amazingly funny show. I would recommend this to all the people I know. However I would not recommend this for younger viewers as it may contain inappropriate content.
Its a great show. Its mindless and really funny, just like a comedy should be. I even got the kids singing some jingles from the show. "Devaraux" lol, this was my favorite ad they did.
its not a show where you have to watch from the beginning of the season, each episode seems to have its own story. its worth dvr'ing.
Its not racist, like some are saying. Its just funny.

It's unreal how much bland emotionless comedic voice acting there is in the show. The stories are great and could be hilarious but the delivery is just like it's making fun of a joke telling a joke. It could be awesome, if these two actors didn't try so damn hard. I watch it to fall asleep. If that helps.

As an ex-Detroiter, I was really looking forward to another hopefully entertaining series showcasing my old hometown. Another "Hung", I was hoping for. I'd even take a "Detroit 1-8-7", despite the dreariness and negative bias of that particular series.
Instead, I was appalled to see this incredibly stupid, stupid, STUPID, lame video, possibly one of the most imbecilic things I've ever seen on TV. Completely devoid of any humor, it's just a bunch of idiots acting like, well, idiots. Some of the most talentless and uninspired writing I've ever seen in my entire life. The writers got nothing, and it really shows.
Sam Richardson is such an obnoxious, worthless actor, it's literally painful to suffer watching his idiotic behavior that he thinks is funny. There's nothing funny about it, it's just plain stupid.
Where did this moron come from? Where did they find him? And why was he cast? OH, I KNOW, he and his moron sidekick Tim Robinson wrote this revolting garbage and cast themselves as its stars!
For instance, we're supposed to watch the two main idiots play basketball inside their office, risking destroying everything in sight, and this is supposed to be funny? Oh, and it gets even worse ...... apparently completely ignorant of the invention of tempered glass, one of the main idiots is astonished when a glass window in his office doesn't break when something was accidentally thrown at it.
They then proceed to throw everything in the office that isn't nailed down at said glass window, laughing hysterically all the while as the glass continues to resist breaking. Of course, they destroy everything in the office in the process. Oh, my God, this is so funny, what cleverness, what talent, what... what.... what mind-numbing, utterly obscene levels of moronic incompetence at writing and directing and acting and everything else that went into this abomination.
Thanks, Jason Sudeikis, for showing up in the first episode and I guess trying to give it a head start. But you shouldn't have bothered, you and a dozen more genuinely funny and talented comedians couldn't save this utterly unwatchable train wreck of a series.
What fool put up his soon-to-be-parted-with money to finance this completely worthless and thoroughly repulsive idiocy??

It's rare to find a comedy show that strikes a perfect balance - the direction, jokes, acting, supporting cast - right to the adorable friendship between the leads.
It doesn't offer the same dark humour as sunny or stupidity of workaholics but hard to imagine not having a good time watching this show.

I love their friendship and the jokes are funny and if you are a local, there is a LOT of inside jokes and celebs. Kinda like a love letter to the good parts of Detrizzle. I could deal with a couple of more seasons of this show. I wish them luck in future projects. They did a good job with this show.

It's just so fantastic and enjoyable. It's truly a crime that only 2 seasons were made. It's out of left field in the perfect way. Well written and has aome great cameos as well.

A common trope in absurd comedy is the exploration/exploitation of fear through the inversion of social norms. Tim and Sam's Detroiters takes all the reality inversion techniques you love from Peep Show and Eric Andre but applies them in the exploration of joy and friendship.
Detroiters is silly and packed with jokes at all levels of subtlety, but it is the earnesty of the actors and writing which elevates this show to a best of all time contender. The raw displays of trust, love, and forgiveness make this show special!
Indeed, my only complaint is that they only made 2 seasons. Excellent show and I can highly recommend both seasons.

I hope with people seeing how good I think you should leave is they will give this a chance. Because it is just so good! I truly believe Tim Robinson should be talked about with the Dan Harmons and the Mitch Hurwitz's of the tv comedy world.
He is just so unbelievably clever, and this is better than I think you should leave which is crazy because that is so good, but watching this feels like the best Itysl sketch going for 2 seasons.
Tim and Sam are such a funny pair and you just realise how lucky we are that Tim has that face because it is just the most comedic face maybe ever. And not to disrespect Sam cause he is unbelievably good as well, I mean you'd have to be opposing Tim Robinson. But he is incredibly funny and this show is special.

Not a lot of talent on show here.
You can see the moves coming a mile off. And when they deliver - flop.
I started to watch the first episode due to a review in a newspaper. I now know not to trust that newspaper. The Guardian.

There is every little Michigander thing you can imagine included. As a Michigander from Ypsi, this is gold! Every MI born actor guest stars even Joumana (if you know, then you should be watching this). It's absolutely absurd a lot like Broad City and The Office, just totally randomness and that's why it's amazing. In one episode, one the main characters is accidentally convinced he's a stripper...accidentally convinced that he is something he isn't 🤣 omg it's hysterical. If that kind of comedy doesn't suit you, that's ok. At least watch an episode or two for the Michigan tidbits, those are so worth it. Anything MI related is name dropped and honestly, it's refreshing. How many shows do we watch set in N. Y., Chicago, Miami, L. A., etc It's about time Detroit got some spotlight! We're always getting negative limelight and Detroit and MI in general, have so much to offer.
