Not What I thought this would be.

My 9 year old son and I decided to rent this movie for our Friday night movie night. Wow I was disappointed. This should not be PG.
The language was inappropriate. Multiple swears, calling people names to be funny (including male parts), suggestive sexual content, objectifying women.....just not a family movie.
It had a good ending where everything becomes right. It has more promise as a dumb guy movie than one to watch with kids.

Not a family movie

This movie was in the family section and it talks about his best friend "banging" his wife, he indicated he slept with "Timmy's mom", some unnecessary language. It just was disappointing to watch with my 3 kids and husband we ended up shutting it off after the "banging" commentary. They were coaching a little league "bad news bears" team and all the added drama made it in appropriate to view as a family. I NEVER wrote reviews but upsetting this was rated PG and in the family category.
Not what I expected for TV PG

It was a slow moving B movie but what disappointed me was that there was so much inappropriate content that I didn't expect. From opening scene in bar and beer drinking to inappropriate language and swearing to objectifying a Ms kid's mom. I was hoping the role modeling and showing right and wrong would surface but it didn't pan out. We fast forwarded and ended it early. Not for my 10-11 year old.

John C. McGinley. If he's in it, I'll watch it but that doesn't mean the movie automatically gets a 10 from me. But this one got a 10 from me because it hit all of my points. The story, dialog and presentation were perfect. And baseball is my favorite sport and my kids were in little league and choir and band so this movie totally made those parts so real and fun. It's not just about the game!
Not a Children's Movie

So we watched this on family movie night as it was rated 7+ on Amazon Prime. Have already contacted Amazon advising this is not an age appropriate label for this movie. Many curse words, coarse and crude language, sexual conversation, etc.
The movie itself was only alright at best. I like both actors, but the character development was pretty minimal. Story line is similar tropes to a lot of other sports movies.

Very enjoyable. Recommended.

McGinley and Dillahunt work well together in this drama/comedy. There were plenty of laugh out loud moments. I enjoyed the movie; it was engaging and pulled me in. The child actors are good and very good, but the movie is more about the two coaches (McGinley and Dillahunt) working together than it is about the kids. Overall, good movie. Watched the movie with teenage son and my wife...everyone enjoyed it. Give 'er a whirl.
PG Adult feel good movie

The story is more meant for adults. Its not a "bad news bears" story. Baseball is the staple but isnt the primary focus of the story. This is about a couple guys coaching a little league team which dialogue that borders on the PG/PG-13 line. The topics are mostly adult themed. Couple guys, have some issues both in the past and present they have to work through while also coaching a ball team. Dont take the baseball aspect too seriously. John C McGinley andGarret Dillahunt do an excellent job.
Good kids sports movie

It seems like this movie is getting a bum rep on different movie sites, so I wanted to give my view. I enjoyed it. I watched it with my 12 year old stepson and we laughed quite a bit. It's cheesy. It's cliche'. Let's be honest, most sports movies are. My stepson has no idea who John McGinley is, but I naturally do and I thought he was just as funny and awesome as he is in any of his movies. He steals scenes. The other guy held his own, however. The two have good chemistry. It's a good flick.
