Frost Vs. Underwood
ThomasDrufke17 February 2016
Well that was quite a night for Agent Carter. Bringing Dottie back and throwing in so many twists and turns proved to be the show's best night of its entire run. For awhile I thought this season wasn't on the same footing as the first season, but I think tonight may have changed my opinion on that.

We did get a bit of showdown between Peggy's biggest villains this week as Dottie and Whitney went head to head. It was fascinating to see just how easily Whitney got Dottie to spit out the information needed about Wilkes just after she shut down Vernon's interrogation completely. It just goes to show you how powerful Whitney can be. In large part, this episode was a direct second half to last episode, which is probably why they were aired consecutively. The crew went on the run in hopes of rescuing Dottie (never thought i'd see that) and also hoping to cure Wilkes in the process. As per usual, Whitney got the best of them and sh*t hit the fan.

The show has a much lighter/comedic tone than other superhero shows or movies but tonight left us on a bit of a downer. With Souza beaten to pieces, Ana shot and in critical condition, Dottie escaping, and Whitney capturing Wilkes, it seems as if there's no hope left for the team. Which is exactly why it would still be the perfect time for Jack to come to his senses and give Peggy and crew the resources necessary to get an upper hand on Whitney, Manfredi, and Veron. I loved the twists on tonight's episode which really set it up for an epic final few episodes. Agent Carter is back.

+Dottie being Dottie

+But Whitney showcasing her powers on Dottie put things in perspective

+Dire situation all around

+Wilkes may be the key to stopping Whitney

This needs a woman's touch

The interrogation of Dottie Underwood was definitely the highlight of this episode. First, she easily handled Vernon, even with all of his boasts about being great at it. Her saying that she's pulled out her own teeth and burnt herself was truly terrifying and the fact that she said it in such a calming voice with a smile on her face is what makes her such a tremendous villain.

Then there is Whitney Frost. She was able to break her with her touch with zero matter. After seeing the composure and strength of Dottie being taken apart by another unassuming woman such as Whitney, it really shows how dangerous and terrifying Whitney is.

The trap set by Whitney was a great twist as she was after Wilkes, not Carter. I loved Jarvis' device that he used to help them. The delayed reaction was hilarious as he kept fretting over the numbers, associating them with famous actresses.

Whitney shooting Ana was a true shock and I cannot wait to see how this affects Jarvis in the rest of the season. James D'Arcy needed more than being Carter's sidekick and this might be the kick that gives him his chance. I did love his conversation with Carter about her interests in Wilkes and Sousa. It was awkward but still amusing.

I also love the quick mention of the arc reactor as it goes in tandem with the quick shot in episode 3 of the design of the arc reactor in the window.

+ Dottie withstanding Vernon but not Whitney + Whitney keeps getting worse and worse (in a good way) + The trap and twist + The future of the Jarvis couple

Final Score: 9.1/10

[7.5] Too loose ropes

Warning: Spoilers
Nicely made episode, but with more illogical and over-dramatic happenings and events. The acting is very good, the episode's storyline and plots aren't.

Too loose ropes for Dottie and Whitney.

Way to go - Wynn Everett (as Whitney Frost) and Briget Regan (as Dottie Underwood)

Wow! We missed all of the 2015 season but have watched every episode in 2016. Very entertaining and refreshingly unpredictable. We especially like Wynn Everett playing Whitney Frost. She is such an adorable and beautiful villain, and now murderess. Would be hard to believe if she weren't such a good actress. We are also enjoying Bridget Regan as Dottie Underwood.

Overall the casting, sets, acting, and writing are great. It really does look like the late 1940s. Every aspect of the show is perfectly done.

The plot continues to be engaging, We hope that the Agent Carter series returns next season and the Whitney Frost and Dottie Underwood characters are seen again. They could have a lot of interaction seeming to co-operate but then betraying each other all the while giving Peggy Carter endless hard times.
