It really is warm and cozy

This may be a biased review as I am a fan of Yoo Yeon-Seok but this series was an ode to Jeju Island with the backdrop of a romance comedy instead of the other way around.

It is challenging to show the effort of resisting falling in love in 16 episodes in the part of the male character, Baek Geon Woo. But man when he did realize it, I binges-watch the series because it did gave me butterflies in my stomach. There was terrific chemistry between YYS and Kang So-ra (who played Lee Kung Joo).

You also cannot miss the secondary love story between Baek Geon Woo's half brother and a lady diver, the town mayor and the sous chef (was he the sous chef?) Pong San who also played match maker.

All in all, this was a light hearted romcom which kept me warm and cozy, literally.

Pretty Good

This kdrama was fun to watch. It had its moments where I became quite frustrated at the lead characters but I had to understand that it's the writer/director's vision. Mostly related to the immature nature of the characters. Something I'm still trying to understand about Korean "kdrama" culture portraying women as childish and lacking. Still, the show was fun and entertaining. So Overall it was pretty good.

Seohyun shines

A lady down on her luck ends up on Jeju island where she inadvertently becomes the owner of a decrepit house, next door to a restaurant called "warm and cozy" which is run by a spoiled rich kid squandering his days. One of the stars of the series is the Island itself but the main star is the female lead Seohyun from Girls Generation who puts in a superb performance. The series is ok but they probably made the male lead too much of a jerk for any sane person to put up with and I found the secondary romance involving his elder brother more enjoyable. It may have benefited from being condensed a little or expansion of the storyline of some of the interesting side characters such as the mayor who was very entertaining.

Pleasantly surprised!

Unsure about this drama but the longer I watch, the more intriguing it becomes the tiring part is the misunderstanding, not daring enough to tell the truth about your feelings & having too much dignity or pride to reveal yourself even after time has passed by.

There is always a witch/selfish Individual in any drama, I guess it's part of the drama korean.

Very good chemistry between the 2 leads! Definitely worth watching.

Just romance without any serious drama

This is one nice and relaxing love story with happy ending for every character. Perfect for those times when you just want to sit back and relax your mind and soul.

There is no nerve wrecking plots/characters and I really enjoyed watching it except the 1 year time jump. (I can't emphasize enough just how much I hate time jumps longer than 1 month, except those with a very good reason!!!) There are plenty of romantic moments throughout the whole drama but not that "too sweet" kind of romance and also not not the predictable kind.

There is also a lot of subtle comedy.

All actors did a great job and OST was great too.

Luke warm series

The series begins with a young woman approaching a young man in the belief that he is her twin brother - born on the same day and share the irritating mannerism of putting their fingers to their lips when stressed. She has a photograph of her father with the young man's mother which makes her enquiry valid. They keep on with this notion by making them both use the same mannerism throughout the series - they also act like squabbling siblings most of the time.

Then the writers make the monumental mistake of the young man denying it and then suggesting that they could fancy each other at some point.

That was so distasteful that it marred the rest of the story.

Years later they meet again, and after a drunken night she ends up being the owner of his restaurant on Jeju Island because he believes her to be terminally ill.

There is the usual girlfriend of the ML who is a gold-digging horrible character who treats the ML like dirt but keeps coming back to him although she dates numerous other men.

This was another sticking point because not many men would put up with a multi cheater for a girlfriend.

There are also the subplot romances of his brother and an abalone diver.

At one point whilst riding on her scooter he grabs her breasts when they go over a bump. I have never seen this kind of physical contact in a kdrama before - they grab wrists instead of hands and females recoil even at the touch on a shoulder.

There is the love rival in the shape of the town mayor who used to be an underwear model.

Of course, there is the compulsory trope of the lengthy separation of the lovers. Why do they do this? It is so implausible - people move on rapidly - they don't wait for years in celibacy. I also wish that they would not include non-Korean actors in these series because they are invariably failed performers in their own countries looking for acting work in foreign countries. I haven't seen a good one yet.

The kissing scenes are poor - we rarely see an open mouth and they are not convincing. I didn't detect much chemistry between the two leads.

The idea of the series, is so good put the couples are weak it seems so fake.
