They pull off a tricky subject in balanced way
dineshprakash15 July 2016
Director Mr. Inder Kumar work is good. He has never crossed the premise of film. Even use of CG goes well with the concept. The ghost face is distorted at a limit so she could look ghost but not ugly. The way steel glass size increases it enhances the feel which it was meant to. Story by Tushar Hiranandani, offers something new. In the era of internet it is very difficult to come with any fresh humor. Every good humor circulates at electric speed that it gets stale in few days only. Screenplay and dialogues by Akash Kaushik and Madhur Sharma, offer something fresh and humorous, like the scene when Prem assumes that snake has bitten his butt. This chunk is very good. Even watermelon coming out from the Baba adds the humor. The temple bell sound from their waist lock tickles you. Film evokes laughter without being too vulgar. Dialogues go with the character and mood of scene. Every character is well conceived even the guest appearance of Babu Rangeela. Film starts on good note but then becomes slow and lame after half an hour and maintains this till half an hour of interval but then it takes pace and definitely maintains its average speed. Even in climax it comes with a slight pinch of emotions as Karwa Chauth angle and again laughter takes over. Climax fight with ghost is also funny and resolution is very good. Any comedy could not survive without good performance which this flick has in good amount. Performance wise Riteish Deshmukh is just adorable. His comic timing and expressions are too good. Surprisingly Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani are very good. Urvashi Rautela as ghost is good. Her walk and attitude go well with her character. Rest female cast is just OK. Sanjay Mishra as Baba Antakshri is fine. Shreyas Talpade as Babu Rangeela is quite good. Music wise Resham Ka Roomal is foot tapping. Credit goes to Music director Shaarib- Toshi and lyricist Manoj Yadav.

These kind of movies are made for very special people haha
faisalfaves13 August 2016
During movie we laughed a lot just because of the editing, mixing and i don't know what to say now.

I was watching this movie with a few of friends of mine, we all loved it because it was like a 'can not be explained in words' movie.

Great Grand Masti is an effort to degrade us. Wake up because director Indra Kumar is insulting the audience. What he has dished out in the name of a sex-comedy is puerile, utter nonsense and disgusting.

Don't you dare smile! Even if you do, do it with a sorry face as we did throughout the whole movie. Who knows, a smile might turn out to be the inspiration for an even greater 'masti'.

Degradation. ♦ Grade F
nairtejas15 July 2016
The third installment of Indra Kumar's sex comedy franchise is nowhere near the zenith that it should have reached by now, considering the perverted times we live in. It has only degraded with time.

Amar (Deshmukh), Meet (Oberoi), and Prem (Shivdasani) are three sex- craving husbands of equally sex-craving and seductive "housewives". However, the couples are apparently unable to get on with it due to some ridiculous reasons. So, the male trio go out of their way to Amar's ancestral mansion in the countryside to have some adult fun. To their surprise, they bump into Ragini (Rautela), a bombshell of a ghost who, for their luck and goodness, wants to have sex with them for some more ridiculous reasons. In between this narrative is where one will find deadpan jokes and slapstick about sex, vulgarity, sex, women, sex, male reproductive organs, sex, and other similar topics.

Masti (2004) was an honestly funny yet average movie, but more than a decade later, Great Grand Masti does not appeal, let only amuse. The characters look like they were written by naughty fourty-four-year olds. The humor, which is supposed to be an important aspect of a film like this, does not even scramble. Lots of cleavages, redundant one-liners, and sexist jokes are all that you'll find in this cacophony of idiotic elements.

BOTTOM LINE: Great Grand Masti offers neither of the adjectives that it has appended in its title. It's just a very bad adult film made by a film student who himself is obsessed with sex. Not even worth watching the TV premiere (if at all that happens).

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? NO

Great Grand Masti Review: Too Little Masti, Too Much Sasti

Yet another adult-comedy emerges from Bollywood to try and titillate our senses. And with the kind of stuff on display in Great Grand Masti, courtesy the sensuous Urvashi Rautela, the target audience will certainly find plenty of reason to get titillated. But, what of the other section of the audience – the ones who look for actual comedy in an adult comedy. Does the movie have anything to offer in terms of genuine laughs or is it all crass humor, double-meaning jokes, and one shot after another of scantily clad women?

Well, the good news is that (at least to a moderate extent) the third installment in the super-successful Masti franchise (India's most-profitable adult-comedy series) has its genuinely funny moments. Hell, there are times when you'll actually burst out laughing both because of the well-scripted gags and the actor's belief in them. Scenes where the trio of Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, and Aftab Shivdasani undress before one of their mother-in- laws to have a foursome with her or when they a man makes them masturbate at gun point will makes even the biggest of prudes giggle.

The plot is completely bonkers, but that wouldn't have been the issue had the gags and jokes been constantly funny. Amar, Meet, and Prem played by Riteish, Vivek, and Aftab are as usual not getting enough of bedroom action from their wives, this time because of meddling in- laws. Amar has an ancient palace that he's just inherited, and Prem gets an idea (like always) to have "great grand masti" this time with village belles instead of stylish city gals. The problem is that the palace is inhabited by a spirit who died a virgin (bear with us) and now needs a one night stand to release her soul into heaven. However, there's a twist – the lucky bugger who'll sleep with her will unluckily have to travel with her to heaven.

The problem is that there's just a handful of truly funny scenes and way too much of the other titillating stuff that plagues most Bollywood adult comedies of late. Most of the other gags appear forced and many of the jokes are straight out of a college student's WhatsApp chat history. And while a sex-comedy does need to have sex, skimpiness, and spice, its time our Directors, who attempt to make such movies, need to realize that the story-arc should merit the sexy stuff and not the other way around. For this, they don't need to look any further than when the industry began making sex- comedies, when films like Masti and Kya Kool Hai Hum evoked belly- full of laughs for those who like their humor laced with naughtiness. Matter of fact, it was Director Indra Kumar who had started it all with Masti. How then he's wavered so far from his own brand? The unmelodious songs don't help either.

What makes Great Grand Masti pass muster is Urvashi Rautela (surprise, surprise). She's in complete form as the sex-crazed virgin ghost and her exaggerated expressions, which would have looked unnatural in a well-scripted movie, are totally in place here. She's backed well by our three mastikhor heroes, who can play these parts in their sleep now. Sadly, Pooja Bose, Mishti, and Shraddha Das, who play our heroes' wives, are painfully bad and mess up in delivering even simple lines.

Watching Great Grand Masti is similar to attending a buffet clogged with way too many extra-oily dishes and just two or three items to savor. After you're done with the experience, those items may not be savory enough to wash away the tastelessness of the other items.

Masti with a Succubus
snaidu42216 July 2016
When we talk about sex comedies, we usually have people curl up their lips in disgust and yes they have a reason to do so, since the kind of films which were dished out in the last couple of years in the name of sex comedies. Sex comedies was a genre which was introduced to dish out films which were "naughty" and not "vulgar". Vulgarity makes you disgusted, while naughty makes you blush. This was where the British Comic series "carry on" won the hearts of its audiences.

While it is too over the tops to compare "Great Grand Masti" to the "carry on series", it is surprisingly a funny movie which manages to become naughty with out being too vulgar (yep I am emphasizing on "too", since there were scenes which bordered towards it). End of the movie, you realize the movie achieved it's objective which is making you laugh at all the various out of the world sexual situations the three protoganists find themselves in.

Amar (Ritesh Deshmukh), Meet (Vivek Oberoi) and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani) are 3 friends whose conjugal lives are not going as they would have loved them to go. The three friends run into Shiny, (Sonali Raut) a maid and they are bowled over and decide to go to her hometown "dhoodwadi" which according to them would have more shineys for fun.

Incidentally Amar has a mansion in Dhoodwadi where they decide to spend their time. Unknown to them, the mansion is haunted by an evil spirit Ragini sms (Urvasi Rautela) who died a virgin. Now Ragini traps the three guys and lays a condition that one of them should help her loose her virginity and travel to the afterword with her while the other two will be left alive.

Uravasi Rautela looks hot as the succubus, but the same cannot be said of her performance. Shedding clothes at the drop of a hat cannot compensate for poor acting skills, but then when have such films relied primarily on the acting skills of the actresses.

Ritesh Deshmukh is the best among the trio, his weird facial expressions, the body language etc., is bang on target. Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani too are excellent in their own way.

Shreyas Talpade as the gigolo Babu Rangeela manages to hog the attention the 20 or so minutes he is on screen, especially in the scene where the trio's wives try to sell the bungalow to him and he thinks they are his customers. The major disappointment in the film are the trio's wives played by Misthi, Shraddha Das and Pooja Bose with no screen presence and yup, they cannot act to save their life.

Story by Tushar Hirandani is witty to the core. CGI sucks big time Music is forgettable

Direction by Indra Kumar is good as he managed to be successful in making the audience laugh and choosing the right script (even though the karwa chauth angle will leave everyone squirming).

I would give this 3 on 5 and puritans please stay away from this one and yep and the rest who are born with naughty gene, watch it!!!!!

A good Entretaining comedy movie
rahulkangsa-banik9014 July 2016
after 3 years of Grand Masti, the Franchise has come with the 3rd part of the Masti series which is Great Grand Masti. This movie is not that much vulgar but has some hilarious scenes. this movie has a story & way better than lots of comedy movies releases in Bollywood now... Riteish Deshmukh is the best when it comes to comedy genre. Vivek & Aftab also did some good job. Urvashi looked hot & scary too. Music also supports the movie. I wont reveal the story but I can assure you that you wont be disappointed after watching the movie.you wont be bore for a single second. Director Indra Kumar also did a good job with his direction. Riteish Deshmukh's comedy timing is damn awesome actually better than any other actors now a days in Bollywood. Hope the makers is not disappointed with leak & they should make the 4th part of Masti series. this movie will have a good WOM & will also do a decent business. Go & watch this fully entertaining movie in theatre near you

A Fun Sex-Comedy/Horror Flick!
namashi_115 July 2016
The third installment in the Masti film series after Masti (2004) and Grand Masti (2013, 'Great Grand Masti' too turns out to be a funny, although very crass sex-comedy, that brings an interesting horror element in the haywire narrative. Its vulgar, loud & even ridiculous at times, but I was enjoying myself almost throughout.

'Great Grand Masti' Synopsis: Amar, Meet and Prem go into a small town where they encounter a 'femme fatale' in the form of Ragini. Ragini is everything they had dreamed of, but she slowly turns into their worst nightmare!

'Great Grand Masti' is fun, because its very sure of itself. This 3rd installment is comfortably vulgar, suggestive & loud. It doesn't aim to be anything else, but to remain simply crazy. While the first-hour is about the 3 protagonist's again struggling to get some "Masti" form their wives, but fail flat on their faces. Its the second-hour more-so, where the film scores. The horror element of the " vengeful bhootni" so to say, is finely set-up & the series of events that follow, are at times hilarious & at times ridiculous. However, 'Great Grand Masti' made laugh more, than bored.

Tushar Hiranandani's Story crosses all boundaries of vulgarity & even crassness, but it aptly captures the zany feel of the film. The Writing is funny, although there are some dull moments in the second-hour. The "vengeful bhootni" harassing its protagonist's, gets repetitive after a point. Nonetheless, there are several hilarious sequences, that do the trick. The Dialouge, however, range from funny to ridiculous. Inder Kumar's Direction is decent. Cinematography & Editing are alright. Art & Costume Design are fair. Make-Up is finely done, but the CG Effects are tacky. Music by Various Artists, is foot-tapping.

Performance-Wise: Vivek Oberoi, Riteish Deshmukh & Aftab Shivdasani are back as the horny men, who end up in deep trouble here. They all deliver well & carry a very likable on-screen chemistry throughout. Urvashi Rautela springs a pleasant surprise. As the "vengeful bhootni", she delivers confidently & also looks seductive. Of the rest of the cast, Pooja Bose is decent, while Usha Nadkarni & Sanjay Mishra are terrific, as always. Shreyas Talpade & Sudesh Lehri are good in cameos.

On the whole, 'Great Grand Masti' is fun, but only if you have the knack for sex-comedies, with a twist!

Great Grand Masti is an Average Movie with weak Script and Storyline. Only Comic scenes and non veg dialogues goes in to its favor.
kaushalmodi198517 July 2016
Warning: Spoilers
These Friday release Great Grand Masti has to face many problems on Box Office. First- Movie was leaked on internet before 2 weeks of release. Second- These year is not going good for Adult Comedies, Previously released Mastizaade and Kya Kool Hai Hum 3 are failed to perform on Box Office. No doubt Great Grand Masti is most awaited movie of these year, but privacy and online leaked issue has spoiled its game. Now after these many problems and issues. Will Great Grand Masti performs and win the race on Box Office. It's a big Question. Let's analyze

Great Grand Masti starts with problematic life of three friends. Like before 2 parts these movie also revolves around Meet (Vivek Oberoi), Amar (Ritesh Deshmukh) and Prem (Aftab Shivdasani). All three are bored of their routine life. Meet has problem in his married life due to his brother in law. On the other side Amar is disturbed due to her mother in law and Prem marriage life is also disturbed due to her sister in law. Prem decides to go to village Doodhwadi along with his two friends to get 'masti' under the pretext of selling the haunted and heritage bungalow of Amar. As they entered to bungalow, they encounter Shabari (Urvashi Rautela). When they came to know that Shabari is not human but a ghost who is seeking for love and lust, All three feels that they are trapped in the bungalow. Story gets another twist when wives of trio comes to give them surprise in bungalow. How all three escape from haunted bungalow is what forms the rest of the Plot.

Third Instalment of Great Grand Masti is also an adult comedy with double meaning dialogues like previous ones, but these time Story and Screenplay are too weak. Its little bit better then 'Grand Masti' but can't compete to 'Masti'. It's only the Comic timing and performances of Vivek, Ritesh and Aftab saving somehow the movie's grace. All three Co-Stars played by Mishti, Pooja and Shraddha fails to deliver the performance. On the other side, Urvashi looks too gorgeous in movie but her performance is strictly average.

Overall, Great Grand Masti is an Average Movie with weak Script and Storyline. Only Comic scenes and non veg dialogues goes in to its favor. Great Grand Masti requires positive words of mouth from audience to perform on Box Office.

Great Grand Masti is an entertaining movie with suitable amount of comedy
safashah15 July 2016
Great Grand Masti is the third movie in the Masti series and I must say it is the best so far. However I am certainly not suggesting that the first two movies were not as good; they were well portrayed in their own ways.

Throughout the movie there are sex related jokes and they are not vulgar or offensive in any way, in fact, they were rather funny and you can relate to them in some ways. In some parts of the movie as an audience you question "why is this happening?" or "was this necessary?" but then you're like, "oh...i get it now!". Therefore the audience is intrigued and hooked to the jokes.

I split the movie in three parts; the introduction to their personal life, their journey to the haunted mansion and the battle between the families and the ghost. the introduction was exceptionally funny and all three of the actors -Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh- did an amazing job in portraying the characters and the comic timing was fabulous.

The introduction to the ghost was pretty funny too as well as the guest appearance of Shreyas Talpade. The wives were okay as well, however they did not play a massive part in the movie in addition to the mother in law and the Baba.

The ending was quite unexpected, though very eventful.

Personally I would highly recommend for you to watch the movie in the cinemas with your friends as you can have a laugh and a great time.

It's a Laugh Riot !!
ShubhhSoni17 July 2016
I had made zero expectations before watching this movie as 'Grand Masti' which was second in Masti franchise lost my all faith in any more Masti Movie. But unexpectedly, this movie offers a new genre Horror sex Comedy which did very well for this movie. Not to forget the direction, the songs, the dialogues & the timings of each lines.

The movie grips the viewer & holds him to watch more of it even it doesn't make ant sense. Some of the scenes cross the vulgarity level but I don't think people would consider it that way.

Urvashi rautela;s expressions were just awesome. The kinkiness level played by her was best. Also there were one shot of Sonali Raut which was also shown very well. Sonali Raut also did a great work, & for sure will make one grin & laugh on her.

Conclusion- Its a laugh riot ,very enjoyable movie with excellent songs with excellent music & beats. If one plans to refresh his/her mind & wants to forget intellectualism for a moment, this movie is a must watch & I would say best in the series after Masti.

Great Grand Masti Review
Magow-Intermean1 May 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Indra Kumar's Great Grand Masti never really rises above its middle-school humour. You've got to feel for the audience. Great Grand Masti doesn't provoke many questions when you're leaving the theatre. Nothing related to the film any way. However, one question that the audience could ask is, what happened to the decent actors Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh? They broke into the business successfully. And how life has turned in such a way that they're forced to give their all to loud suggestive humour, in a universe where their only problem is that they crave sex and they (for whatever reason) don't get it at home. Aftab Sivdasani, well, we've all been waiting for a good performance from him after Mr India. Let's leave him out.
