The arcade booth named 'Dark Seouls' is a reference to a cyber attack that occured in South Korea in 2013 caused by a malware named 'Dark Seoul'(and also an evident 'clin d'oeil' at the videogame Dark Souls). It paralysed banks, ATM's and television stations. A 50 years old man indentified as Mr.Kim was the principal suspect, and seemingly connected to North Korea.
Origin of the Title:
- In computing, zero day is an unknown vulnerability in computer software than can be exploited by outsiders. It gets the name zero day because once it is known, the programmer has no time to fix it. These flaws can be used by hackers to attack computer systems.
- The extension: .avi is an audio/video file compression format developed by Microsoft. Because of a series of problems, including its inability to encode data such as video file aspect ratio, it has largely been replaced by .mp4 compression.
The "End of the World Party" poster is designed to mirror the original theatrical poster for the Stanley Kubrick film, Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964). The film is a political satire about American politics and the military in the nuclear age.
