With filming expected to begin later this month on The Strangers 2, the first official casting details for the sequel have been revealed.
Deadline reports that Christina Hendricks (Drive, Mad Men), Bailee Madison (The Night Before Halloween, Good Witch) and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath) have joined the cast of The Strangers 2, which will be directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door) from a screenplay that was worked on by Bryan Bertino (writer/director of 2008's The Strangers) and Ben Ketai.
Character details for the trio of actors have yet to be revealed, but this follow-up to 2008's The Strangers will take place in a trailer park, and when we recently asked producer Trevor Macy if The Strangers 2 will see the return of the three masked killers from the original movie, he said, "I think that is safe to say."

This past weekend I attended the annual Sherlock Holmes fandom celebration, a.k.a. the Bsi Weekend in New York City; a time I always thoroughly look forward to and enjoy. The weekend is great both for the setting (so much to see and do in NYC, both Sherlockian and otherwise) and for the friends (new and old) that attend.
One of the Sherlockian highlights of this year’s weekend for me was the Daintiest Thing in a Dressing Gown Pyjama Party, put on by the Baker Street Babes. I always get a kick out of costume parties, and this one featured lots of fun and creative pajama costumes, both Victorian and modern, and took place in the uber-cool and historic setting of The Players NYC (seriously – read their history page. So cool). It was a blast!
A non-Sherlockian highlight of my weekend was getting to see the current production...

Traditionally, TV pilots are pitched, greenlit and then presented to network executives, who view the finished products in the privacy of their own studio-lot screening room and then, like the modern Roman emperors they are, vote with their thumbs. Never one to do things the old-fashioned way, Amazon has opted to let the audiences have a say in the process as well — the streaming service-cum-online network posts a round of comedy, drama and kids' series pilots they're considering for series on their site, and let viewers decide which ones are worth moving forward on.

This fall, for the sixth time, Amazon Studios will simultaneously premiere a batch of new pilots and ask for input from its viewers. The programming wing of the online retailer has announced the six programs that will make up this new pilot season, and as we expect, there are plenty of familiar names and intriguing premises among the loglines.
Two of the new pilots are particularly star-studded. One, Highston, was first revealed back in April. It comes from executive producer Sacha Baron Cohen and centers on its titular teenager, who interacts with famous people only he can see, much to the chagrin of his parents (played by Chris Parnell and Mary Lynn Rajskub). Another pilot, One Mississippi, is based on the life of Tig Notaro and co-written by Notaro and Juno’s Diablo Cody. Louis C.K. serves as one of that project’s executive producers.
