Nice try, but not even mediocre
Kremer-Thomas3 December 2019
First things first. I hope the team enjoyed the production. Unfortunately the film uses almost every bad cliché you can imagine. The mask and special effects are poor. That may have been due to the budget, but it would have been nice if the zombies hadn't all looked like tired panda bears.

The story isn't very complicated, with a little more effort they could have made it more interesting.

What bothered me most about this movie, though, was the underground choreography of the fights. It's so bad that you want to shout to the makers: Guys, watch some sword fights on Youtube, you can learn a lot in the process. Or better yet, go to some live role-playing games and you'll get to see some good masks too.

I showed the film to my son (11) to give him a feel for how depressingly badly planned fights can look. The actors try hard, but unfortunately they don't get beyond that. It may have been the script, but most of the time they just seem confused.

I recommend everyone to save time and to avoid the film.

Necromancy
BandSAboutMovies29 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
From the studio that brought you The Jurassic Games, here comes Tower of Silence, which has been described (by its PR department) as "a fantastical, dazzling love letter to The Princess Bride and Stephen King's The Dark Tower."

When the great sorceress Kaeis captured by a mysterious enemy, her young followers devise a plan to rescue her. So you know, if you enjoy fantasy films about quests and whatnot, this is probably way more for you than me. I mean, it has necromancers and an undead army in it.

This is director Erik Flynn Patton's first film and he's in his early twenties, so let's hope he can deliver on the promise that he shows in this. It's not a bad first effort and if you enjoy magical mythologies and whatnot, it's probably more for you than me.

I have another name for it....

...Tower of S***

For what appears to be a dark ages era film...everyone is awfully clean shaven (not very dark ages). The house innit has crown moulding and what appear to be thermopane windows (not very dark ages). Oh...and everyone is like 22 years old in it.

Shame so much work went into movie... it was generally wasted
future_release4 December 2019
Clearly a lot of time and effort went into this movie and it's nicely acted ( I think the script sometimes makes the actors seem more wooden than they actually are ) and generally well shot. Sound is good too.

The pace is so slow. The story is simple. Pick up the pace though

The fight scenes are ridiculously choreographed ( more of a dance than a fight ) with the actors stood waiting for their turn to fight it looks stupid.

VFX is ropey and please get someone new to sort out your Greenscreen work as you can see an edge around all the greenscreen clips. ( either that or you've tried to fake a depth of field and it hasn't worked and it looks like badly cut out greenscreen )

I'd love to see more from this group with another movie and another story.

Is it always this painful
nogodnomasters23 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Kae (Jenny Sterlin) is a magician/sorceress and is kept prisoner in a tower (not the one on the DVD cover). She is locked in a room and apparently didn't have a hairpin. Groth (Mark Evans) is the bad guy and has joined forces with the Necromancer! (Christopher L. McAllister) Derick (Brandon Tyler Harris) dressed as a conquistador with a violet paisley top and purple striped pantaloons ie going to rescue her with the help of similarly dressed conquistadors (one is a red-headed female) and magicians Arcadia (Taylor Rose) and Rahim (Brandon Gill). And there are zombie-like creatures running around too.

This is a low budget film. The dialogue was dreadfully boring. The period dress was anachronistic. Arcadia wearing stretch knits. The fighting choreography was a laugh. If you can't fight do the speed up and slow motion like Seagal. Not only was the film cheap, but they must have used the lowest bidder to make the DVD as my new one would pause too frequently on its own.

Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity. Not even a gadzooks!

Costume Party
bemyfriend-401841 August 2021
This is a costume party. Someone mentioned Monty Python. It looks like it will be good. Maybe like a commercial for food. It looks good, but it isn't. Seen on Tubi, the free streaming site; which has older theater films, and newer indies.

Fun from start to finish
officialqueenstown26 December 2019
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this film. Taking into account the film was shot in 2015, I felt it was enjoyable from start to finish. The characters are likeable and the film is shot beautifully. My only note is some of the special effects are a little low budget. Overall a great film that sucks you into a new world, well done to the makers and cast!

Do not be fooled.
garylfc-3548711 October 2020
Don't be fooled, like me. Don't judge a film by its cover. In the vein of Tolkien and The Dark Tower, this most definitely is not. The Dark Tower is a poor book to film adaptation also a poor film in its own right but is watchable to the end.(just) The Tower of Silence is an abomination that cannot even enter the category of, "so bad that it's good". The acting ranges from extremely poor to just about passable. The dialogue is verging on the ridiculous. The story is a run of the mill fantasy/dark ages tale that's done so much better elsewhere. The choreography of the fight scenes is laughable. The special effects cannot be called special and they're not very effective either. The hordes of bad guys, 'The Fallen', must have all gone away on holiday as there's not very many of them here and they look like extras from a 1950's zombie film, but with less menace. I only managed to watch half of this film. Do yourselves a favour and don't try to watch it all, even if you get it as a freebie.
