I'm a late-comer, watching on DVD years later. Been watching since 2018. I'm the guy putting up most of the Quotes on the individual episode pages. Some time last year, I unfortunately once had to do a spell check on the name CeCe Drake. I used Wikipedia to do this. Nobody says Spoiler Alert there. So the whole cover got blown for me. I also, through inadvertent knowledge gained through incidental research, found out that "Game Over, Charles" was the lowest-ranked episode. But I figured, it's this gender thing, the girl fans don't go for it. I didn't expect what I encountered today. This is just truly, truly, truly abysmal, amateurish, abhorrent, awful, ah please I. Marlene, you know what you can do with it...!
Episode gave the four mains, who can at least act, a break. Sasha Pieterse, you're a lightweight at this. Vanessa Ray, unconvincing. Any episode that has so little of the two main draws, Troian "Spencer" Bellisario and Amber "Hanna" Benson is d o o m e d.
In earlier reviews of mine, of REVENGE and PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, I constantly moaned about wads of chewing gum being chewed and chewed and chewed long after they have lost their flavour. Also about plot holes I bet could never be fixed, so big you could sail a battleship through it. I rest my case.
The previous episode was SO GOOD. Spencer was SO beautiful. Okay, nothing changes there, fortunately. Troian, you're a dream date, the best! But this episode, WHATTA LETDOWN! I booed the screen! The prospect of 30 more episodes on the Five Year Later Plan... bah, donkey droppings!
(but I got the lot on DVD, so...)
Signing off,
A disgruntled fan who was skeptic from Day One
but big, big fan of the Lady Troian
and to think I thought at first, aw, there's a Tori Spelling in here, got the job because her Daddy's MAGNUM P.I. director
This episode, badly filmed, shoddy, hastily done, low-cost, first draft script, desperate lied ourselves in a corner, fighting our way out like drunk rats... Poor acting. Characters with no motivation. Plotline developments shoot rest of series in the foot.
No. No! No!! N O ! !
