Awful acting and constant bad music
aarpcats6 March 2022
An interesting premise starts with a thrifty script that immediately gets to the crime, the cop who needs to prove something and the threat of more killings. The sorry is paced as steadily as an episode of Law and Order and never finds a reason to lag.

If the writing and direction are good, why does everyone hate this movie? Well, for one, the lead actress ought to consider another profession. She performs someplace between "phoning it in" and Faye Dunaway in "Mommy Dearest." For another, the production values scream "Wifetime Movie." And, last, the music make me want to pound myself in the head with a hammer.

I would like to see what the writer and director do with an actual cast, because this was just godawful.

Stay off your leg....I do what I want!
neenasbookshelf22 May 2022
I like to spend the occasional couple of hours watching random movies that are lower budgeted, sometimes, you can find a good movie. This movie was decent, I could have used a little more character development. I know for sure that a father-daughter ride along would never happen, because of the results of this one.

I think this story was an interesting one but as a person with friends who work as dispatchers, I was a touch offended by the main character and how she acted as though the job of dispatcher was beneath her some how.

The scene where her physical therapist tells her to stay off her leg and five minutes later (in movie run time)she is trying to run on it. Another thing that kind of irritated me was the one officer who was giving the main character a hard time, I was with her at first because the main character is the worst dispatcher ever. However, when she mimics her limp, I was like "now that's too far", it was highly unprofessional. Overall, it wasn't a bad way to spend 1:30:00; it is one of those movies that you will shout at the screen, "C'mon! What are you doing?!!!"

Wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either. It was nice to see Joseph C. Phillips again.

Awful, even for a lifetime movie.
odium43-138-25876127 March 2016
I love bad lifetime movies, but man this movie was just awful, and not in an it's so bad, it's good way. The main character is beyond irritating and totally unlikable. She's a terrible cop who gets injured in the line of duty, and then becomes a terrible 911 operator who ignores a kid calling for help, which results in him being murdered. The rest of the movie is spent feeling sorry for herself, drinking, impersonating a cop, breaking into people's houses, and waving her gun at people until she somehow solves the crime. And at the end is rewarded as a hero despite basically spending the entire movie being incompetent and committing felonies. Don't watch this movie, do something less painful, like eating glass.

Who in their right mind gave this a 10? The lead actor or the producer maybe?

Do yourself a favour if you are considering watching this ... don't. Call your mother instead. She'd love to hear from you!

Awful, not even cheesy enough for some good laughs
LoupGarouTFTs10 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
From the outset, the main character is unsympathetic and leaping headlong into the depths of the misery of her own making. Through a series of bad decisions, she ends up getting her father and at least one other person killed, herself nearly crippled, suspended from the 911 call center, and stealing evidence. She pouts and binge-drinks her way through the first third of the movie, whenever something seems not to go her way. She appears to be emotionally stunted and in no way someone who would have passed the mental criteria that a police officer must meet. If the acting had been credible, hinting at some deep pain underlying her behavior, her actions might have garnered some sympathy. Unfortunately, she was played as being a "tough girl" with a vulnerable (read pouty and immature) side.

I don't really expect a lot from Lifetime movies. I do, however, expect a main character that I can empathize with, if that is what the viewer is intended to do. I wouldn't waste my time with this one and wish I could get the time back that I did invest in watching what I did.

Terrible movie
banazap21 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
One of the worst lifetime movies I have seen. A female cop who is terrible at her job, she gets her dad cop partner killed, she gets shot in the leg, she transfers to 911 call center, she does a terrible job at that and talks rudely to a kid calling 911 for help resulting in the kids death... and the whole time shes hobbling around on her injured leg acting like shes a bad*ss strong female cop that's supposed to make us feel sorry for her...

She takes some time off from work to go independent and try to solve the crime herself that she botched when she was a 911 operator in a typical female action hero style.

0/10 from me. terrible movie, terrible acting, overall bad movie and not likable at all.

Don't waste your time on this trash
bentley-515875 March 2022
Poorly written for a movie that had potential with a good story. This was a Lifetime Channel movie gone bad. It's not even a bad B movie. Multiple Illegal searches are just one of the many ridiculous parts of a "cop" movie with clearly no research in how cops do their jobs. The title alone should tell you to steer clear - 911-Nightmare... a Nightmare of directing, acting, and plot.

High School Drama Clubs could have done better
amontii5 April 2022
This is a horrible movie. The acting is stilted, forced, and the script gives surface dialogues and interfaces only. In scenes where there should be sincere emotions being portrayed by the characters, the actors are not able to regurgitate their lines correctly, let alone bring depth to the scenes. Don't wast your time....

Warning: Spoilers
Talk about things going wrong quickly. On patrol with her fellow father cop, she witnesses him shot to death when everything goes wrong in attempting to arrest someone. If things weren't bad enough, she is disabled by the attack and takes a job as a 911 respond person, only to lose it by thinking that a call is a prank rather than the real thing.

We see how the media blames her for this and when she receives a 2 month suspension for what has occurred, they then claim that she is on drugs (even though they're prescription medication) and she is terminated.

With remorse, she investigates the killing only to discover that the parents of the teen accused of killing him are not the culprits at all. Wait until you see who the murderer is. School days, school days, those golden rule days.

This movie is terrible. The main character is so stupid, incompetent and so unlikeable. It starts off bad and doesn't get any better.

At the beginning of the movie she is shot in the shoulder - but for the rest of the movie she somehow has a leg injury instead - that just shows you the thoughtless production of this lame time-waster.

Just Bad
beamerportia31 March 2022
This was bad from beginning to end. I watched it all the way through so as to give a legitimate review. This film is actually as bad as the majority of the reviews. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the bad reviews are even from the actors who signed up for this misadventure.

Too many cop movies not to ask...

Warning: Spoilers
WHERE IS THE SEARCH WARRANT? Really? It's all good with two cops in a subject's house without a search warrant AND an officer (suspended?) doing the fatal shooting?

Do not waste your time with this movie.

The incredible vanishing gunshot wound
bitbucketchip3 September 2021
I was watching a different movie (Cliffhanger) where the hero had a shoulder injury that conveniently came and went as required by the plot and was reminded of this movie. Our hero in this movie was shot in the leg in the first scene. It's quite a serious injury. Her doctor says something about amputation being necessary if she refuses to stay off it.

The first thing our hero does is toss her walker in the trash and devote all her energies to racing about. She climbs stairs, runs(!), climbs through windows, chases down suspects, etc. Pretty much anything and everything other than resting her leg. She limps at times, hobbles at other times, and walks normally the rest of the time.

Though suspended from the police department, she breaks and enters, threatens a potential suspect with her gun, and steals evidence from him. Her illegal activities culminate in her shooting a suspect.

Three stars because this was a pretty bad movie but the rampant continuity errors with the leg injury made it memorable.

I expect nothing from Lifetime Movies and yet I was still disappointed with this one
mayasamba28 December 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This has to be the worst Lifetime movie I have ever seen.

The main character is unlikable from the start. She tried to arrest a kid for stealing a tiny bag of chips and she rightfully got popped in the knee after being a terrible police officer and allowing this guy to get a hold of her weapon.

Because she was injured she was reassigned to be a 911 operator. And a horrible one at that. She didn't take her calls seriously and a kid wound up dead because of it. So with this, and her bum knee she felt sorry for herself during the whole movie and started to drink heavily.

A huge problem with this movie is that she spends 85% of the time hopping around on her bum knee...I don't understand why that had to be included in the movie at all and why they showed multiple scenes of her with her physical trainer. We never know what happens to her knee so why even include it?

She was rude, annoying, and broke so many rules to find the killer. She's horrible at her detective skills too. Every time she would be staking out she would somehow fall onto her leg again and cry about for a minute.

The WORST part of this movie was the forced ending that was less than 10 min long. So she finally caught the killer in the act and she went chasing after him until she fell (yet again).

So the killer ran off and went back to his house on a bike. Somehow the killer got back to his house before she did even though she was driving a car...makes no sense.

As she was speeding back to the house, she called her partner to warn him. During this time he was taking pictures of the evidence inside the house. This part really wants to make me rip all my hair follicles out by the root. She was calling him and we could see her phone ringing, however the screen would cut to him and his phone wouldn't be ringing...impossible! Anyone with a phone knows that his phone would be ringing too. It's just so fake and unrealistic.

Somehow the ending worked out fine for her despite all the felonies she committed.

Honestly, don't waste your time with this horrible movie unless you want to see her hobble around and fall and cry.

Lead Actress Is Terrible
carolynocean4 October 2021
I really hated this movie , and the reason being is because of her , Right from the word go , I just took an instant dislike to her , what an attitude !

Firstly , her father bore the brunt of her incompetence , secondly a child in need suffered because of her rude, unprofessional attitude.

How did she get into the police force in the first place ??

And what really irritated me was her smart comments throughout .

This girl really thought that she was one half of " Cagney and Lacey " Think again !

There, I got that off my chest !

Apart from that , the movie was still bad .

I would not recommend it.

911 Nightmare is a 10 out of 10!
tbedwards-689-320799 September 2016
Loved it! 911 Nightmare is a fun, well-acted movie that the entire family will enjoy. This one-of-a-kind film keeps you on the edge of your seat with many thrilling moments, shocking scenes and a great deal of suspense. The cast has a lot of chemistry which made the movie even better to watch. All of the characters are sharp witted and their character portrayals are spot on for the diverse roles. The actors were believable in every scene which was refreshing to see. Loved Fiona Gubbleman as the lead character and Cole Edwards as Stevie. I would highly recommend 911 Nightmare for those audiences who love a meaty thriller. It will make you laugh and cry...and will shock you with a surprise ending you won't want to miss!

No sympathy for the lead
ryleilove12 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was really bad. I wasn't going to leave a comment review and just star it especially because a lot of the low reviews already express my feelings. However, I couldn't help myself.

First, we have this super unlikable main character. For some reason I didn't like her from the very beginning. Then we transition to the scene where she caught up to the kid who stole from the store. That's when you really hate her and have zero sympathy. She was going to arrest this kid who stole a what used to be $0.25 sized bag of chips back in the 90's early 2000's and told her his mom hasn't been home in a while so he's hungry. Like come on, give him a break. Then she's apparently such a horrible cop that she let this I think he said he was 15 year old kid snatch her gun from her holster AS SHE'S PUTTING HIM IN CUFFS? I mean she literally had his hands behind his back. Then she's makes an even dumber move by pulling a back up gun to shoot said kid, so he fires off and kills her partner dad and even manages to shoot her. No need to go into her 911 call. Many others have mentioned it, but what a horrible character. It's like they were trying to paint her as this tough cop who we should build sympathy for, but it doesn't work. She wasn't tough. She was dumb, ignorant and mean. And aside from the character, I'm not trying to be rude, just honest, but the actress is TERRIBLE.

Another reviewer mentioned her falling all the time and that was so freaking annoying. One minute she's walking like regular with a fake limp - for example when she and her boss are walking from the hearing in the hallway, they are walking at a regular pace and she has no issue. For someone just shot in the knee, please tell me how.... HOW??? Just ugh. So many other issues with this movie but I only have three more.

1. It's so obvious who the murderer was the minute he's on screen. I looked at him and said yea he did it. Even before he tried to divert her suspicion toward the janitor. So typical.

2. None of the main characters were likable. The cop dude was so annoying. Their little love story was forced, they had no chemistry. And he was a little pretentious if you ask me.

3. Here we have this suspended cop, - wait... I guess she was suspended. I really don't know. I know she was suspended from her operator job but was she still a cop? Obviously she was sat down due to injury but...forget it I'm not going to try to make sense of that so back to my original issue.....here we have this "cop" who breaks into a man's home only assuming he's gone for the day. As she's going up the stairs someone enters and her first reaction is to pull her gun and say freeze? How do you know the man didn't return to his home? Maybe he forgot something. Maybe he phoned a friend to house sit for the day. Maybe he had a roommate because what an odd home for a teacher to live in with no family. I mean so many possibilities. She just kept doing the most illegal things and this is the real life issue with cops now. They think because of their little badges, they can do whatever.

Who writes this crap? I was going to give it a three for effort but this movie was horrible and a waste of my time. After writing my review I'm scrolling back up to give it a 1 just because I watched it last night and recapping has yanked my nerves all over again. Watch at your own discretion but please take heed to the real reviews.

To Protect and To Serve
lavatch1 March 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Chris McCullers had some bad luck while on patrol with her dad. Instead of waiting for backup, Chris gave chase to a petty thief, then made the mistake of reaching for some chips when the perp got the drop on her. As a result, her father was killed and Chris received a serious leg wound. Afterwards, while assigned 911 call responding duty, Chris handles a desperate plea from a kid poorly, and when a youngster is killed, she is eventually suspended. Now, she must clear her good name.

In "911 Nightmare" (a.k.a., "Dispatch"), the action is brisk and well-paced. There were some creative directorial choices in camera angles, location filming, and close-ups. There was also a good romantic interest with Chris and a fellow cop named Tim.

Another strength of the film was in the portrayal of the villain. Instead of the obvious psychopath, a disheveled janitor named Kyle, the perp is unexpectedly mild-mannered and, on the surface, unlikely to be a killer.

Everything about this film was clean from the excellent performances to the taut screenplay to the crisp direction. Chris was driven to find redemption not only for her missteps as a rookie. From her dad, she had an idealized vision of being a cop. From that inspiration, she discovered her true calling: to protect and to serve.

Cortez was the unilkeable one from start to finish!
haroot_azarian23 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
While I agree with a lot of the criticisms about the movie and especially the lead character Christine, but I do not think everything can be blamed on her. Sure, she was to blame for her father/partner's death on her first night patrol out. But we must not forget that she was a rookie, fresh out of the academy without any real life situations.

Furthermore, so she made a wrong judgement on the fateful 911 call by the kid who really if we think about it was talking in a way which would make one think he's just had a nightmare and is confused. And we must not forget that emergency dispatchers are continually under immense pressure to make split second decisions.

Criticizers say she had an attiude. So what? She already felt guilty about her dad and also the 911 call botch, so she had all the right to be the way she was. I do agree that the love interest was practically forced on her by the detective.

And finally I have to say the way the two detectives treated her so rudely was totally uncalled for. Right from the beginning that Cortez woman had it in for Christine. Being rude and sarcastic to her and imitating her limp and Arnold not saying anything to her. Some friend he was to Christine's dad and his former colleague. And the icing on the cake was at the end when Cortez got the wheelchair for Christine, all she had to say was "you did good"! Not even a simple pretend verbal I'm sorry! That was the most annoying part of the movie!
